problems with whiteline endlinks?

anyone had any problems with Whiteline endlinks?

i got a set to use with my Progress Technology sway bars. i tried installing one of the rears and one of the spherical ends just fractured when trying to move it around. i checked all the spherical ends for rotation and they were all stuck. i was able to get a replacement rear set under warranty but the ends on them are stuck as well.

i think i'm just going to go with Agency Power links.

here's a couple pics of the fractured spherical end.

him and I were just talking about this yesterday. I sent him a link to this thread so I'll let him explain his experience.

(watches as suspense builds...)

I always thought whiteline was a reputable company.

Thanks Jedi for referring me to this thread.

I can't speak to the exact circumstances but I have also experienced a failure of my front whiteline endlinks.

I've had this setup for about a year and a half which, IIRC, is outside of whiteline's warranty period. The failure of my front endlink is the outside edge of the eye-bolt. It's unclear if it was contacting something in the suspension or gave up because of the amount of force being put through it.

My RX8 is almost totally daily driven with some track time. This failure occurred on the street.

Previous symptoms were a lot of clunking from the front suspension at low speeds during tight turns or speed bumps. From other threads on RX8club is sounds like this is a wide spread issue.

Another 8club member contacted Whiteline and their statement was that these endlinks are race only and not designed for the street. I too was turned onto whiteline from a Subaru owner who highly suggested them.

Does thing mean they make bad products? I don't think so. I think, however, if anyone is going to be street driving their car they might want to look into endlinks which are capable of handling the debris and stuff that doesn't occur on the track.

I've had the same symptoms from my Whiteline endlinks. This was solved by adding a ton of Energy Suspension grease to the spherical ends and the sway bar bushings.

I also noticed that those spherical ends are very stiff -- probably a little too stiff. Not sure if this could be a cause for them to possibly break but I wouldn't be surprised.

Also their "adjustable" claim, while true, is useless as their shortest setting is the stock setting.

I only got these because it's the only thing I could get locally on short notice. If you can get something else, I would.

I can see that being an issue. With the design and location of these endlinks it seems like regular greasing of the bushings would be required to stop that.

I guess I made the mistake of thinking it was a set and forget part.
