Question about some wheels...

I'm new to the RX-8 world and I love the car already!

I have done a lot of research trying to find the wheels that I like w/out compromising too much power/handing. I found some wheels that I like alot but havent had much luck getting the info (in writing) on them (weight and lip size)...I DID check the wheel database and had no luck there and google'd them and the 18x8 came up as 25 lbs! So I called the supplier and this is what he gave me...

Wheelsnext.com
Lorenzo WL19 (Gloss Black)
Front - 18x8- 20lbs, +45 offset, 2.5 inch lip//225/45/18
Rear - 18x9.5-22lbs, +48 offset, 3.5 inch lip//245/40/18

With that said I have a few questions...Anyone know if this info is accurate? And will it fit w/out any issues? And most importantly will it be flush??

BTW...the reason I created a new tread is b/c I didnt want to ask other questions on the "will it fit" tread...so I hope that no one reems me b/c I seem like I am being lazy

It will fit but not be flush or even close to flush. You will want a bigger tire than a 245 on a 9.5 probably, and it's not unheard of for wheel people to give inaccurate info regarding weight. For a 9.5 in the rear and flush, you want around 34-40 offset with 40 being the safest/least flush. An 8.5 +30 is flush with the front I believe. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick response!!!

So it sounds like the wheels are still going to be tucked in a little bit but still pushed out futher than the stock wheels right?

And has anyone seen the specs for these??

The fronts will only be 5 mm farther out. You could definitely stand to go a bit more aggressive. I think most people go at least 8.5 up front on a staggered setup.

They will be out about 1/2" from stock on the rear... |Could run up to 275 tires OK

And about 1/4 " in from the stock fronts....can't run much tire cause of the narrower than stock rim width....so 225 is likely the limit

Wouldn't be my first choice.....you could run the 9.5 in the front and back OK...up to about 38-40 offset though

...and you saying they will be further in...I thought that stock wheels for the 8 are 18x8 +50?

I am not trying to argue I just want to know exactly what I will be getting myself in to, I have read over the definition for "offset" and kind of understand. I also see our point in the 38-40 offset b/c that is what most ppl run from what I have seen.

he knows what he is talking about, but I don't get where he says the fronts are thinner than stock/more tucked so I am going to say he misread something. You do know that staggered is bad right, and that you could just run the rear setup all around? If you look in the will it fit thread, I posted pictures of my 9.5 +38 all around set up today for you to get a better idea.

Yes i have read that its "bad". Appreciate the lookin out though

I'm not too worried about the understeering effects it will cause from what I have read from some of the "elders" with staggered setups. I guess my primary concerns are the actual weights of the wheels...and I dont want it to stick out AT ALL. And from what it sounds like those tire sizes are not preferred for that setup either.

The reason I am so stubborn for this setup is the wheel (deep dish look, all black)...I think this wheel will look good on the car (I like the black on black if you cldnt tell from the bike)

18x8 +50 is the stock size. I wish it was 8.5
