Ok, I noticed my front rotors have discoloration streaks and noticeable deep groves- at only 2k miles. Is this normal, or a sign of something else and/or something I need to have repaired/replaced (at my expense)?

thanks, Bryan

Don't worry about it unless your car vibrates when you brake. Every 8 with factory brakes that I've seen have the grooves and discoloration.

But i thought discolored rotors were the result of either overheating, or bad pads?

Here is a good link: http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/...otors_myth.htm

The discoloration is from the transfer of pad material to the rotors which is normal.
