Question about wheel rubbing/lowering springs
Question for you guys that have dropped your cars a bit. I have a couple of questions..
I recently had NTB mount/balance some wheels for me. They are 18x8.5 Front and 18x9.5 in the rear, Sport Maxx XXR 009 Racing wheels. I got them from a member here on the forum.
I'm experiencing ( I think on the RT front side, it's very hard to tell where it's coming from) a little tire rub if I hit a bump or bad patch of roadway. I didn't notice it yesterday evening after driving around for a bit, but today on my way to visit my mother (the wife and kids were in the car), I heard it quite frequently.
Have any of you guys that have a similar size tire/wheel experience any rubbing after changing your setup? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Giving the car a visual inspection really doesn't turn up much. It's been raining here so it's very hard to near impossible to locate any rubbing evidence along the tire or wheel well area..
Would adjusting the shocks alleviate this? I'm totally clueless, so I'm asking.
My next question pertains to Tanabe GF210 Lowering Springs. I'm thinking about purchasing a set, just to lower the car a bit. According to the information I found, the springs will lower the car 1.4 in the front and 1.2 in the back.
The tires I have mounted on the wheels are 235/40/18 in front and 265/35/18 in the back. For you guys that have a lot more experience with this....should I expect too much of an issue with this tire/wheel package should I decide to purchase/install these springs?
I know this is a lot of info, I hope someone can help..
Thanks

+35 all around?
you shouldn't be rubbing in front at all with that setup. if it is, something is loose.
you sure you're not rubbing in the rear? with the extra weight from the rear passengers the rear would drop more. your specs there are in the gray area between rubbing and not rubbing.

Rear huh? Like I said before, it's really difficult to pin-point front to rear, at least for me. My wife thought it was coming from the rear. I honestly couldn't tell.
Which brings me to my other questio. About further lowering it...I guess that's out.
Thanks for your help.
