Quick Tire Question

Only reason why i asked here and not the tire forum is because this forum gets way more traffic.

I searched and im bombarded with "wider" tires and offsets.

Well, all i need to know is if the set of Blizzaks i wanna see if i can get will fit on the factory rims. The factory tires are 225/45R18 and i know these rims can fit wider. My question is, how much narrower?

The Blizzaks i found are 215/45R18 and i dont know how much more narrow i am able to go without being too unsafe that the sidewall of the tire is riding on the pavement. Also, im not too sure how it will affect my car in terms of dry handling for the time being.

I know 10mm isnt much of a difference, but if im spending money, i like to make the right choice.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know? Simple "do it" or "dont do it" would suffice at this point. The tires prolly wont last much longer on craigslist...

I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Bridgestone's own specsheet (http://www.bridgestonetire.com/tires...roduct_ID=-154) show the 215/45/18 size as being compatible with an 8" wide wheel.

Your speedo will read a little higher than actual but it should only be a 1.4% off so I doubt it would make much difference.

I run them on OE 225/45/18 wheels, and they work just fine.
Its a very good tire for the winter months.

I don't have any experience with a 215, but it should work, just be careful
