Reliabilty of refurbished OEM wheels
Let me start this by saying I hate Pennsylvania roads.
So, I hit a pothole the size of a (add any word you can think of that means deeper than an abyss) and now I have two bent rims. I have the 18" OEMs. Moneys tight and I can't afford new ones and not many people are selling just two, but I have posted a thread hoping to find some one.
I trying to find info on the reliablity of refurbishing the wheels. There are a few shops in my general 50 mile radius that can handle the job, but is it worth it? I really don't want to spend the money, then run over very small object and find out that they were bent again because they were weak from being straightened.
Please discuss.

Do you have pics of the wheels?
Have you gotten quotes?
Might be worth a shot if it's not outrageously expensive.

I went to a place called the Wheel Wizard every time it happened to me. Worked ok and it is safe. Just make sure they put the wheel on the spinning machine for you when they are done. The last time I had it done I don't think they got it completely fixed but I wasn't the one who picked it up so it made it that much more of a hassle.

I for one had a bad experience on a refurbished wheel, I also hit a curb and damaged both driver's side wheels, once was replaced one was refurbished. Eventually I had them both replaced. As the mazda rep told me "once we put the car up in the air and rotated the wheel, it looked as if I was rolling an egg". Just buy a used wheel from one the forum members, they are cheap and won't give you any headaches down the road. Just my .02 cents.
