Rev Model II's 18x7.5

Hey all. This is my first post with my new rx8. My first mod is getting these ugly aftermarket wheels off of the used rx8 I bought, and put some old wheels I've got in the garage on there.

The wheels are Rev Model II's 18x7.5. The lug pattern should fit seeing as the wheel offers 5x100 and 5x114.3 patterns.

Question 1: is 225/40/18 a good tire size to fit this wheel and my rx8?

Question 2: The wheels have slight damage. One of the wheels suffered a blowout on my old protege and the lip is slightly bent outward (kind of flattened off compared to the wheel being a perfect circle??) for about a 3" stretch. Although it looks slightly bad I do not think it will cause any problems trying to mount some tires on the wheels and throwing them on the rx8 will it??

Thanks for yalls help, once the new wheels are on there will be plenty of pics

225/40/18 is slightly smaller than stock. Should fit fine but may throw off your speedo???

How ugly are the wheels currently on it? What you're wanting to put on in its place doesn't sound much better!

ha i personally love these Rev wheels. Eventually I plan on getting a 19" package but its a lot easier for me to spend $500 on tires right now and have a satisfactory package.

The wheels that are on it right now are 18" Helo chrome wheels... theyre horrendous.
