rx8 s1 general suspension check
Hi
I've had my S1 RX8 since new (coming up on 9 great years this summer). It's been very reliable (except for a new motor at 98k). My dealer just told me that I needed a couple of bushings (thrust arm and sway bar I believe). He quoted $650, which seemed excessive.
I've done a bit of suspension work in the past, on a Mercedes 190E - replaced tie rods on the front, and a couple of thrust arms in the rear. Even found and fixed a dealer error. So, I'm by no means an expert, but I was wanting to see if I could do this.
While I'm down there, I'd want to give everything else a once over. Is there a "how to check rx8 suspension wear items guide"? Search didn't help.
Thanks

I'd jack up each wheel, and tug them looking for looseness.
I'm weak and can't do much, but I think sway bars are kinda easy.
I took my endlinks off rear, and had machine shop take out 1 inch.
Those endlink rubbers are kinda wimpy and showing rot on my 10 year 34k mil RX8, but rest is solid after Bilstein B12 kit.
