A simple test for the OEM Potenzas
Since I put my OEM Potenzas back for the summer I have experienced a Lot of noise from the back of the car and it is getting worst around 40-45 mph. I know how noisy this tires are, but I couldn't believe it. They has only about 10k miles on them. So today I performed a simple test. I wanted to be sure the noise tire related only and nothing else. I put the rear of the car on jacks stands, started the engine and shifted into sixth gear and rev it to 120 mph. No noise at all from the drivetrain, completely quiet.
I couldn't believe that a 10k miles tires can be that noisy.

could have just turned off dsc but whatev.
be careful if u change anything less than all four at once. ive seen a few rx8s where they change just two and "wait till they get enuff $" for the next two and they had brand new tires on the back and 2/32 left on the front and the dsc was goin bonkers tryin to figure out why the rears were goin at diff speeds than the fronts!......all types of lights were goin off, the car had a lack of power....the computer goes into limp home when it looses its mind like that...............
