Snow boots and Mazda factory fire

Hi, I'm a new club member, so I'm not familiar with the workings of the site, please pardon the learning curve.

Bought my 8 in Aug 04, manual trans, titanium grey. Everyday drive with 8,400 miles now. Just thought to pass info to those driving in the snow states. After the first 1 inch snow in Nov, I was sweating bullets just going 20 mph. Immediately bought (4) Bridgestone, Blizzak, WS-50s - (Studless Ice and Snow) 225/55QR-17 with new 17 x 7 Mille Miglia rims. What a difference, almost seems like a 4-wheel drive. Didn't bother with the 8's tire sensors, the dash yellow light just keeps flashing, looking for the stock tires in my garage. Hope this info helps. Soft rubber on the WS-50s makes handling less exact and slushy over 80, so take care.

Still amazes me the fun and accel hitting the pedal from 5K and up! By far, the best looking design and handling out there today!

Heard from my local dealer, the Mazda factory had a fire and the Miata's and RX-8 would not be supplied here until about 2006. However, went to the Mazda site and though they confirmed the fire, they also said the MX-5s and RX-8 would again be available after April or May 2005. Any one hear other news?
