The reason why he says to not used the rotary stem caps is ridiculous...
the snap when you hit em on the curb??? YOU'RE TOO CLOSE TO THE CURB THEN!@#
i'd rather pop those off than scratch my rims and have to pay serious mula to get those replaced...
In fact.. I might just go order those now...

I love my Rotary Valve Stem Caps.

Well it's just a bad design. If your rim gets scratched it's not going to leave you stranded someplace. And that's exactly what will happen if you lose a valve stem like I think he is describing. Unless you shell out foor the spare tire kit.
As far as close to the curb, well yeah, you'd have to be real close but heh, it happens and it shouldn't leave you stuck somplace.

when i get to close to the curb the extended valve cap will take the hit and keep the wheel from getting scratched so i have to replace a 175 dollar valve stem instead of a 750 dollar wheel. good thing i have sense enough not to park within 4 inches of the curb

I've hit the curb one time while parallel parking. It scratched the rim a tiny bit since I barley nicked it.
I don't know why you guys can't understand why someone couldn't possibly ever hit the curb, and why this wouldn’t be a problem if you did hit the curb.
Thanks for the advice, while I don’t plan to hit a curb anytime soon, its good to know having those valve caps will leave me stranded if I do.

well chances are he didn't break anybody's legs over a 10 dollar set of valve caps and i think he was just trying to add flavour to his story by adding that embellishment, rather than just trying to "impress" us.

And uhh, the problem is with the valve step cap, he didnt hit the curb with his rim, its the valve stem thats STICKS OUT from the rim thats the problem.

**** happens and if the **** happens because the valve stem is sticking out past the rim and tire where it shouldn't be due to an extended cap on the valve stem then that would be that ****'s fault... Remember HE didn't curb the rim and I doubt if he was considering the extended length of the valve stem when estimating his clearance while parking, but I'm sure you do that all the time... Every time somebody comes on this forum and post something informative that could be an issue to others you get 80% of the posts following it with wussy *** comments. Usually with something like "Why didn't you use the search" yadda yadda... Well while I'm ranting I'll answer the question of why people don't search on this forum. It's because there is so much bullshit posted on here, you have to dig threw the search results for hours to find an answer. If you don't have anything useful to say then don't say anything.

Dragon...your last post was great and I totally agree...I'm pretty new to the forum, so I'm looking for as much info as possible but you're right, I have to dig through all the crap to get to it...but there are plenty of people like yourself who are helpful and informative...so let's all cut out the bull and move onto something more important than insults
