yes, there is a difference in spring rate between the "base" model spring and "grand touring" spring...or GT. The struts are the same, the difference is that the touring spring is softer, and therefor, you get a lower stance and softer ride. The Base model spring is stiffer and therefor a higher stance with slightly "stiffer ride".
If you call a Mazda dealer, they can tell you the part numbers of each, but they don't have any info/specs on spring rates for either spring. If you go to the lot and look at a Base model, and a GT side by side...you'll definately notice the height difference between the two.
