Synthetic suspension fluid: coilover rebuild
I'm having a set of JIC coilovers rebuilt and they recommended synthetic fluid as part of the rebuild. It wasn't a huge expense so i went ahead and did it.
Did i get talked into buying snake oil or are there some real world advantages to this?
I've only briefly researched it and amsoil seemed to have a decent overview. But I was surprised how little i could find on real world application or personal opinions on the matter.

They nailed it, synthetic fluids also tend to keep their viscosity for a longer time (shear resistance).
It also depends on the suspension setup... on my current bike I run power steering fluid in the forks instead of oil.. lol
