My hunch on TeamRX8's comment is because maybe it's trying to be like a jack of all trades in the dampers area. Not sure until he or someone else gives the 411 on it. That's just my guess. I've heard great reviews with this on the WRX but haven't heard reviews with these coilovers on the track nor on our beloved RX-8...

Install should happen on Tuesday of next week. I'll throw up a review of the install if I can be at the shop while it's happening. Otherwise I'll post a noob review of the feel. It's going to be a big difference in feel changing both the wheels+tires+shocks.

^haha honestly theres no way that can happen, unless he got into an accident and had something happen to his control arm and bend it. iono how that can happen in daily driving conditions and tracking the car lol thats SOO warped lol

You're buying based on marketing bling and the opinions of other people in the same fog as yourselves.

FWIW, speed adjustable shocks are so 1980's ... funny that none of the premier racing shocks come with electronic adjustment. You probably think they're just behind the times ... :clueless:

I'm new to this game so I really am clueless and know just enough about cars to change the oil. But I still think I know enough to understand these shocks would let me pass the wife test nicely. We'll see how they work after they are installed.

Calling something 'junk' with no explanation is supposed to help us clueless autox mortals?

TeamRX8, that's why I created this thread to ask about these if anyone has used them and if they're good or not. I've read a bit about shocks but have no knowledge of which are the better "brands" because I'm new to this hence why I asked. For you to just say "lol junk" or the like doesn't help me get informed which is what I'm trying to do.

I'm sure when you were new to this, you asked around also about shocks A or shocks B on what people thought/personal reviews with them using the product also.

Tires arrive today, wheels Friday and Seven's hopefully Tuesday.

I have the install scheduled for Wed. 4/28/2007. I still need to verify the delivery date of the Tanabe's since I think they sent me an invalid tracking#. Regardless, the install will happen the day after I get the shocks.

I still need to give some thought to where to have the TEAS control unit placed. Hopefully I can find some posts by those who have installed TEIN's EDFC.

BTW.. I also plan to install the FEED replica. Only 3 more people are needed for it to be made! Anyone interested should signup now! :-)

It looks like speed variable suspensions are still in use.

A quick search shows that the Audi A8 uses such a system, albeit with height control as well. In addition, the VW Touareg and Mercedes vehicles.

Ferrari F50: "Damping was also varied according to speed, independently of this system, making for greater comfort and improving performance at higher speeds."

It seems to me the primary point of such a system for most manufacturers is to improve the ride quality at lower speeds while still having a good high-speed ride quality. And that's my primary reason for wanting this system.

To TeamRX8's point, I would say I do not think a comfy ride at low speed ever crosses the minds of pro race car drivers. We'll just have to wait and see how the TEAS's sell and let the commercial market decide.

UPS dropped off the Tanabe Seven's and TEAS today. Install happens tomorrow. For the alignment I'm going to try TiresPlus lifetime alignment. After 300 miles I'll take it back for another alignment.
