TEIN S Tecs Questions.
I am going to purchase these springs. So here are my questions: Can i use the OEM shocks? Do i need an alignment after install and if so do i wait for the springs to settle for a while before i get the alignment. Also from reading some theads it sounds like you can align the front end in different ways to help the handling is this true or is a front end alignment a front end alignment? Best place to purchase the springs? Thanks!

I want to lower soon, but i have been waiting to get wheels at the same time. You most defanately should always realign a car when the suspension is modified, especially when the height of the body is changed. With leaf springs, the camber is thrown off with a lift or drop. When you have coil springs like the 8, there is ajustment, but the wheel is moved at the bottom instead of moving the ajustment from the top (camber) The point is, alignment is necessary if you value the life of your tires, and I was wanting to put wheels on at the same time to save the alignment cost. ($100 roughly)
As far as the shocks are concerned, from what I found out, the s-tech will work with the OEM shocks, but they will not last very long. The tein springs are very stiff and shops tell me that springs like those will beat the shocks to death. With the s-tech's remember that you will be looking at a very stiff ride. I have been looking at some tanabe springs that lower 1.4 front and 1.2 rear. The rate is only 10% over stock so the ride will not be that rough, but I will gain a little in handling. From what i hear, the tanabe is a good product but i have never actually saw a side picture. I almost bought the tein and decided to research some first, glad i did. Just a few things to consider, hope i was of help. please post pics when you are finished, i would love to see no matter what you do :D

Hi guys,
I am planning too to buy Tein S tech but i don't want that very stiff ride. I would tolerate a little stiffer ride than OEM springs but not very much... Also i plan to put 255/35r/20 on it... Should i try the 20's first before ordering springs ?
Thanks

Also the springs are progressive. quite tame for normal driving, but firm up when cornering at high speeds. :p
I have mine on for 9500 miles and ride better than the day I put them on.

I had my Tein H-Techs installed over the weekend and i love them. The gap in for the front wheel well is less noticeable and I actually prefer the stiffer ride compared to OEM. granted, that i've only had it for about 200+ miles, but overall i think its great. you may want to look into this unless you want your car lowered more..

GOD no 20"s !! Unless your going to show the car.
In fact; What does it change ? Bad steering feeling ? Very stiff ride ? Lost of handling ?
thank you in advance for your answers

What you loose: With more rotating mass, caused by heavier wheels and moving that weight further away from the wheel center, you will loose acceleration and braking, and your suspension will have to work harder to control the heavier wheel. You will feel the effect in almost every aspect of your car's performance.
But I say 20s are fine if you are going for looks and not performance.

Thanks Dark8 for the answer.
Could i get any improvement by upgrading from Potenza 225/45/18 to Kumho 255/35/20 ?
I guess you would say that i must try it to really know, but i may want some feedback before making expen$ive choices
