Testing TPMS

Does anybody know how to test the TPMS sensors? I purchased some used 18"wheels that had the sensors on them plus one that I got on ebay and wanted to test them somehow before actually putting the tires on them.

Any large tire retailer should have a tool similar to the ones below. The trick is getting them to use it for free

http://www.bartecusa.com/tpms_dealer_tools.htm or http://www.tpms-tool.com/
