Time for tires, which ones?
Well its time for new tires, glad to be ditching the stockers. I loved the performance but I felt they were a bit twitchy and seemed to magnify road noise.
I was looking at the Kumho Ecsta SPTs.
I live in Dallas, so I can run a Summer tire year round with out too much trouble.
Help me out guys!

i just ordered a set of Falken ZE912's in 245/40/18. i put a set on my wife's Forester XT and they're great. wet traction is great, quiet gentle ride and dry traction is pretty damn good as well. i'd stay away from anything kuhmo makes that's not a competition tire.

the 245/40/18's are $106/tire from discount tire direct.

i'd stay away from the kuhmo's like i said. with the exception of my ecsta v710's, every set of kuhmo's i've had have been crap.

$106/tire are you serious. I have the bridgstone potenza s-90 pp 225/45R18 and i am being told it will be at the cheapest $250/tire. I need to see if they are worth replacing or if I need to get something cheaper. I need new front pads too and might upgrade from stock, but I am already loooking @ $1500 for new tires and front pads.

i have the kuhmos spt, and personally. they are a good tire but after you use them for about 10,000 - 20,000 miles they suck. any little rain you are all over the road. i know you in texas but any little light snow. you go no where.. but if you plan is just to use it as a street tire and not track at all. then go for it.
