tire install problem - damaged sidewall?

I bought a used set of 19" tires that looked fine unmounted...
I just had my local tire shop mount my 19" tires this morning...

Tire installer was an idiot, installed one asymmetric tire backwards, worked on the same tire for an hour unmounting / remounting it and failed...
finally got the manager who knew what he was doing to do it...

After all was said and done, it now has a 2-3" bubble in the sidewall.

Is it possible that the bubble in the sidewall was due to the install? Or must it have happened previously since it was a used set of tires?

Thanks!

edit: finally added the pics

Yeah the bead is torn up, you can see chunks missing on the side, and the air is getting in the sidewall. Pull that tire off and I bet most of the inside of the bead is gone. I would not drive on that. No doubt that was done by the installer/tire machine.

did it have that missing chunk and sidewall rips before the install? If not, the tire shop owes you a new tire, otherwise somebody sold you a defective tire
