Thumbs down

I have no idea what you are ranting about, but there's no better source of tire information and service than Tire Rack. I have used them for years and so have many of my friends.

Why don't you reread your post... tomorrow ...after you sober up.

I have included the extent of the PM conversation between "mic jagger" and myself in regards to his post above.

************************************************** **
Original email from "Mic Jagger":
"16" Wheels
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I live in Canada and I have a GS Model. Automatic.
Not sure what catagory I fall into. What is the TPMS sensor and sleeve for ?
Can I buy from your company ?"
My Reply:
"Yes, you can buy from the Tire Rack. We ship to our Canadian customers on a daily basis.
To my recollection you have the canadian version of the US base madel RX8. In the US all of the RX8 come with a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). However in Canada the TPMS is an option. If you have the TPMS then you need a sensor and the mounting nut for each wheel. If you do not have the TPMS on your car then you do not need these parts."
"Mic Jagger"'s reply:
"Sorry Big Guy ... But you know nothing what you are talking about.. my buddies on this site have taught me a lot.."
My Reply:
"You come to me with a question about a non US imported vehicle and then when i answer your questions the best i can with the information i have, you insult me. This is the last time i will be offering assistance to you on this subject."
"Mic Jagger"'s reply, i have edited the profanity out of the post:
"What we say in Canada is "F**k You"...wait till I post this response here.. All I think you want is $$$...answer it the best you can ...for shipping every day to Canada ....Means you're full of s**t... No 16" rims in Canada Bigggggg Guy... FU..."
************************************************** **************
I have several customers in Canada and i have never been told to do what "mic jagger" stated above. In fact in most cases they have been extremely friendly and many have called back after their original inquiry to deal with me again. Normally when people come to me for information they do not insult me when i am trying to assist them...... freely, i remind you, since my work on this forum is strictly voluntary and i asked to take it on.

Maybe that guy is just phishing around hoping to hook someone on the topic.. some guys have nothing better to do than stick out their chests and act big and bad on the internet.

I wouldn't out anymore effort into it - anyone who know anything knows that Tire Rack supports all manner of motorsports and will go out of their way to find the proper information for anyone who is willing to listen.

I have used Tire Rack for years (more than I care to remember) and heartily recommend you guys to anyone who asks.

The faithful will always be here, the rest you don't need.

hey connor, i do the stuff you do every day and i feel your pain.... we have books, sizing guides, and experience but some people will not take our word for us or forgive us when a new vehicle has limited information published about it. The aftermarket wheel and tire business is a pain in the *** with all the sizes, fitments, offsets, and choices. I have come to a conclusion that out of every 5 sets of wheels/tires you sell, only one customer will be 100% satisfied no matter how hard you try.
People call us daily for wheels that fit a truck and want to put them on their honda and get mad when we tell them they wont fit.....

Kinda long but IMO this was blown way out of proportion and connor, i liked your last response about you trying to help the guy, getting cussed, and offering no more assistance... I think more vendors out there need to have the ***** to tell a customer they are being difficult and that there is only so much you can do. Everyone is too worried about pissing people off that "good business" is a distant 2nd.
sorry for the rant

I haven't had any contact with Connor at TireRack, but I've dealt with a few other people there. Everyone has been kind, courteous, helpful and knowledgable about the products they sell and their applications. I really doubt that Connor is any different in that respect. I may not always agree with them abotu everything, but that's life.

Jagger, even if you think that Connor is wrong, you owe him an apology for your attitude.

Hey, Tire Rack is great, and Connor was particularly helpful to me as a new RX-8 owner in getting me the right snow tires and wheels. Now I just want the snow to come so I have a good excuse to put them on!! :p

Sorry Mic, I gotta agree - you were out of line. Sure, Tire Rack is a US company and primarily knows the US specs of models. So if Connor doesn't know off-hand that TPMS isn't available in Canada, or doesn't know the differences in Canadian spec cars from US spec cars, that's reason to start insulting him?

From Tire Rack's perspective - they keep the specs on thousands of US-spec vehicles, and for most of those, the Canadian specs are the same. Mazda is one of the rare companies that has different specs and option packages in Canada from the US.

Wouldn't it have been far, far easier to just say "Sorry Connor, Canada doesn't get TPMS option, and all Canadian RX-8s have the big brakes, 18" wheels, and sport suspension, there is no 16" wheel package up here. I need a winter tire solution that's the same as for the 18" wheeled US RX-8s". Whatever happened to "working together"???

Connor, we know you have a tough job, especially when you have to deal with ridiculous attitudes like above. Hang in there - most of us really appreciate your assistance on this forum and Tire Rack's willingness to get involved in these online communities! :D

Now, both sides of the dispute have had an opportunity to present their sides to the story (Unfortunately, one side comes off looking like an ***, and I'll leave it to the readers to decide which side that is! ). Since we aren't interested in this turning into a bitch session, I am closing this thread.

Regards,
Gordon
