thanks to everyone but I will probably buy new rims and I want to go 275/30/19 on all 4 corners so the seller get me those options to choose. He can get me any brand probably but he have a discount on falkens and dunlops and for those sizes any tire looks expensive for me
So I think have to pic one of above
Thanks

Swoope: A brief Q?
but for the street both are overkill.. have a set of the dunlops star specs on order...
if it is just the street i would think the op would like a tire that lasts longer that 12 to 15k miles..
i would say that his selection in the first post is pretty damn good.
and i do agree the 245 40 18 is the way to go..

It's been awhile for me on the boards. Bought my RX-8 in January 2004. Since that time I have come to trust your advice on most things RX-8. So...If those tires are a bit much for the street, would you also feel that 245s are "overkill?" I drive enthusiastically on back country roads and in the twisties on hills and mountains, but I do not race or autox. Would 245s be a good bet for me?
OK, I can't resist: short of the High-end Dunlop or the Falken, could you suggest a few appropriate options?
Thank you. Good to "see" you again.

the 245 40 18 fits the wheel fine adds a bit more rubber to the road.. and just looks better..
as to what i would recomend, depends on how much money you want to spend..
i have been very happy with the two sets of kumho spt i have had on the car.. great tire very good in the wet, and not a lot of money. lasts a long time..
i did one track day on them and they were fine for easing back into track days..
tomorrow a set of dunlop star specs go on. as i am doing more track days now, need more tire. and not willing to do dedicated track day tires yet..
if you have any other questions you can send me a pm..

No Matter What Dont Do Falken.....but I Go With Nitto 555 OR NEO GENS
NEO GENS ARE GREAT BECAUSE THEIR WALLS ARE TAPERED AND NEVER RUB!!! THATS WHY I HAVE THEM...THEY ARE MADE FOR LOWERED CARS WITH LARGER RIMS...IM RUNNIN 20"S AND NEVER RUB....EVER~REAL GREAT GRIP AND HANDLING.

really large font and running 20s. so you really dont care about handling or grip..
just care about not rubbing.. good way to choose a tire..

MY RIMS 20" WITH 35 SERIES TIRES ARE THE SAME DIAMETER IN LENGTH AS STOCK WHEELS WITH 45 SERIES TIRE...IF U DONT KNOW... AND PLUS IF I HAD 20" RAYS/VOLKS/ADVANS U WOULDNT BE SAYING ANYTHING.... IF U WERE TO DRIVE MY CAR U WOULD SEE NO HANDLING HAS BEEN SACRIFICED...DONT THINK I THREW 20" ON THERE WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING. THE REVOLUTION OF MY WHEEL IS THE SAME AS A STOCK WHEEL.
are you saying that a 20" wheel can have the same size tire diameter as a 18". well yes it can.. does that make it a good idea. not really..
the bigger concern is saying falken is crap and nitto is good.. just not accurate.. if you are buying tires because they wont rub you have proven my point already..

Your retarded, get rid of caps, neogens suck as far as grip goes.

I JUST SUGGESTED ANYTHING BUT FALKEN..........AND IN MY I WOULD CHOOSE NITTO....I NEVER SAID NOT BF GOODRICH, OR PIRELLIS, OR TOYO. I PUT MY OPINION AND IT WAS NITTO...THE 555' IF U DIDNT READ.....I KNOW BF GOODRICH PROBABLY HAS THE BEST TIRE RIGHT NOW FOR TRACK/CIRCUIT....BUT SOMEONE COMPLAINED ABOUT RUBBING AND THEN I SUGGESTED THE NEO-GENS

Neogen has a 280 UTQG rating. It would be a UHP tire, along with the other tires on the list which hover around the 300 UTQG mark.
Neogen was basically created with a special inner shoulder for "lowered vehicles" with "higher degrees of negative camber"- read- people who lower their street cars with no regards for a proper alignment and/ or alignment compensating modifications (camber plates/ camber bolts, and other adjustable suspension components), i.e. slammed Civic.
Running lots of negative camber is ideal for track setups, but it is killer on street tires for daily driving and Nitto came up with this tire to market to the tuner crowd who wants a certain look without following through with the essential suspension adjustments.
At 280 UTQG, the Neogen is a sporty tire, but nowhere near the performance levels of a track tire.
Also, making blanket statements that Falken tires as a brand are inferior is ignorant. There are many good Falken tire offerings.
