Tokico Dspec install, ran into slight problem
So I was following the step of the Tokico DIY yesterday and followed the steps to get out all shocks and struts. I switched out the front springs and struts fine, but when I got to my last rear shock when torqing down the mount the tip of the rod snaps off. I read up on the torque specs before installing and from Tokico's instuctions it reads 38 - 48. Thing is when it snapped, the pressure was somewhere between 20 - 25. Torque wrench is pretty new and is made by Craftmans so I'm confidence in the tool. I'm just hoping that when I file a claim through Tokico, they'll believe me when I say that I did not over torque or use a impact wrench. Any sugguestions to help me in my case?

Thanks for the info guys. I bought these on Ebay and it was a pain getting back in touch w/ the person who sold them. It didn't reply back to my emails until the 6 or 7th day after this happened but by that time, I had to get just 1 shock special ordered. The guy lives in Costa Mesa where I'll be on Memorial Day weekend. I'll bring the shock to him to have him submit a claim through to Tokico. Once that's all set, he'll refund me back my money. Problem is, I'm out a little bit. I originally bought all 4 for $506 including shipping but the special order just for the 1 shock was 180 including shipping. The refund will only be for 506/4 which makes me 60 bucks in the hole. Oh well, at least I didn't have to eat the cost for an additional one but man does this suck.

no,
the refund should be for what you paid for the new one... he will be credited for the one shock. you paid retail for the one he did not..
pm me with the details if you could...

I was planning on getting some of these of Ebay as they are cheaper than the Koni's (at least on ebay) and have external adjustability on the rear dampers. I'm having second thoughts though based on these posts.
