took off my sn0w tires today
I just couldn't take driving around with off-roading tires anymore so I took the gamble that its not going to sn0w anymore and put the p0tenza's back on... damn i forgot how fun this car is to drive with decent tires on :p
On the down side...
I switched the tires and took the car for a spin to get the TPS buggers working again. I drove about a 1/2 mile and the TPS light suddenly flicks on and the buzzer scares the bejezus out of me. I'm thinking, SOB this car better not have to go back to the dealer for some strange code crap. I drove around a little more thinking maybe there is a learning mode of the TPS, but no the light stayed on.
I get back to my house, go around and check the tire pressures and my right front is down 10 psi . I fill the tire back up and the TPS light goes off... thank god.
I come back to my car about 2 hours later and the damn tire is down 5 psi again.
I just filled it up again, and then took my baby for a ride and beat the bejesus out of it for a good 1/2 hour (the DSC came on around turns 5 times :p ) and watched for the TPS light to come on - and it didn't. I got back and checked the pressure and it was 3 psi more then when I left my driveway (I told you I was driving like an *** :p ) so hopefully its ok.
I'm wondering if this is related to how I stored them. I laid them on their sides and stacked them on top of each other with a piece of cardboard seperating each tire, thinking the rims would support the weight. However, the potenza's have the rim savers in the sidewalls so all this time the sidewalls were supporting the weight it appears. The leaking tire happened to be the tire bottom. I'm going to see if it continues to leak, maybe the bead isn't seated right anymore. :o
