Touch-up paint for stock 18" rims?
Hey all. I took a corner a little tight and tagged my back rim this morning. I did not fracture the rim or pinch a tire but i did get a few little scrapes on the edge of my rim. It looks like i can sand them out. have you guys heard of a touch-up paint for mazda rims?
Also, do you think there is a chance i could have knocked any suspention out of alignment? I did over 100 a couple times on the way to work and did not notice anything but i worry about stuff like that. I want everything perfect when i am pushing the envelope if you catch my meaning.

I used the stock Sunlight Silver touch-up paint. If your rims are in like-new condition it's a very good match. Not exact but close enough that you can't tell where the damage is.

Someone posted a while ago that supposedly, the DupliColor TY 01602 (Lunar Mist Metallic 1C8 Toyota) is also a good match for the stock rims. I'm not sure which is better, that or the sunlight silver touch-up.
I will use the DupliColor sometime soon so we'll see.

Update: After a quick wet-sand to prep the surface and knock off the rough bits, i tried out the Duplicolor Lunar Mist Metallic 1C8 Toyota. The color match is impressive and a few quick coats filled in the deeper gouges that the sandpaper did not get. The touch-up dries nice and flat and is not gloppy or thick like the Mazda touch-up paint is (past experience with a freeway rock chip on my hood). Also, it is more forgiving. If you screw up a bit, it will wipe right off with a dry paper towel within the first few seconds. I took a picture, but my camera could not even pick up the repair. Cheers to Tamas! Thanks for the suggestion.
I will update if it does something horrible like peel off or discolor.

Thanks Tigger. I would have probably tried your suggestion first but Pep Boys was open on Sunday and i am a little to O.C.D. to wait one whole day for the parts counter to open at the local dealership. The duplicolor is actually sugnificantly more expensive thant the Mazda touch-up paint.

No problem. I just suggested it because it was a good fix for me. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do man! I can relate with the OCD, especially when it comes to my 8.
