Toyo T1R > Bridgestone RE760 (questions)

I have had 3 sets of Toyo's on my last two cars and I love them in every condition here in South Florida. In an attempt to save a little I got some Re760's this time around. I drive 85% highway and only push the car when I have a 100% clear on/off ramp (no track time). So far the RE's feel a lot softer but they do hold well on fast turns. Never lost traction, but they still feel sort of 'mushy'(?) Both sets have been 245/40/18's. My question is, should I try different tire pressures? Right now at 35.. Are there any other things I could do or just be glad I have a good set of tires for less money, that still do well in the rain?
Just thought I'd ask since some might have experience with these tires and I wanted to give my impressions of both.
