TPMS & Duct Tape...will it work?
I just bought some 5Zigen Sports Engine SC3000 rims and realized that the TPMS sensors are being a slight pain to keep inside of it with the tires. Anyway, long story short, we tried using the sensors itself as well as using an extension with no luck.
I thought of an idea of using duct tape to tape the sensors onto the rim. Of course, the valve stem isn't inserted into the rim but merely just taped on. So that way, 1) the TPMS sensor will still be used and 2) the sensor still has the "rotating sensation" of the wheels rolling.
Has anyone tried this and what is the probability that the TPMS will fly loose within the wheel? Maybe duct tape or zip ties?? Very long zip ties??

a friend of mine said that his shop used metal straps to hold down his tpms. I don't know if it's the same type though. he said it's like a giant hose clamp.

Why? Even if you wanted the wonderful wobble of four unbalanced rims, why do you want the TPMS sensors to say: "Were here, were spinning and your tires are FLAT!".
Without a pressure differential, that is what they will think as your shimmy violently down the road.
If you are lucky, the tape will give up at highway speeds and the sensors will go on to a better life as shrapnel inside your tire.

That little light is annoying me...and I don't want to put a piece of electrical tape over it either...haha. I just figure that it could work...just trying to find out if anyone else is doing something creative with the sensors other than getting rid of it.
