TPMS programming
Aight, I've searched and read on 8 pages worth of TPMS threads but seems to be the same story of people using the old ones with very few mentioning getting new ones or used ones even if the same serial # and installing them on new rims.
A few I read mentioned they just turned the ignition to the ACC position, then turned it off, waited a few minutes and started the car up and went while the car communicated with the new/used set.
Can anyone verify this? Just want to make sure I can go ahead and have the tire dealer install new rims with some new tires along with the TPMS to be set to go without any programming required.

1. turn ignition to ON position, then back to ACC or LOCK
2. wait 15 mins
3. drive for 10 mins
I've done this process 3-4 times already on my 09 and I've never seen the TPMS light flash or remain lit.

I just had Tirerack TPMS sensors installed on new-to-me rims/tires and didn't have to re-program anything.
edit: but then I went right from my stocks which had TPMS sensors to these, without running between, so I presume the system just continued to see sensors and didn't ask anything further of me.

I'm going to buy a used set a year old for less than the cost of 2 of them would go for brand new and use the hardware upgrade with new rubber seals and what not. I just wanted to make sure there was nothing fancy smancy between the lines I missed to get them to work other than installing them and doing the procedure kster laid out.

^^there is no procedure to follow.
i got a used set out of a mazda3, had some tires installed and put on the car. they are also the samsung units i believe...
i did nothing outside of putting it on the car and drive. the light never came back on...
if its the oem units you are trying to get ur hands on... they either recognize them or they don't, or they are probably damaged. its worked on its very first drive cycle...
just leting you know...
