TPS sensors bad?
I just got my 04 and the other night I was leaving a parking garage and drove over a large piece of metal that is built into the floor of the parking garage. It made my TPS go off, within 10 miles the light went off. This morning I backed out of my driveway and drove over a manhole cover (there is no drop down) and the light went off again and stayed on all the way to work. Is this normal for driving over something that makes a noise to set off the light? I checked my pressure at the first gas station and all 4 tires were at 32 lbs.

Mine has gone off a few times too with no cause by pressure loss. Nothing like an annoyingly wrong sensor crying wolf to make you ignore it when it happens to be right.

If you have not done so already, try checking your tires while they are still cold (ie before driving and during the colder part of the day) and make sure they are set to 32 PSI cold.
As you drive, the tires warm up and the pressure goes up several PSI. Also pressure goes up/down 1 PSI for every 10 degrees of ambient temperature increase/decrease.
The TPMS light is supposed to come on if the pressure is less than 26 PSI or more than 49 PSI. You might be close to the lower threshold in the colder part of the morning or at night when you've seen the light come on.
FWIW I've never had mine come on - even while driving over manholes or metal plates.

You know I just had a similar problem with mine...I live in Los Angeles and of course it never rains here...but when it does all hell seems to break loose and my car was no exception. The low pressure warning light was on the entire time I was driving in the wet. Once I left the area that had been raining and was on dry pavement again it turned off.

it depends on how the light is coming on...as I am having a similar problem where my light comes on after EXACTLY 10 minutes of driving every time I drive the car. BUT, the light that comes on is flashing, not steady, and there is no beep.
My car has been to Mazda twice and they couldn't find the problem, as they are stupid and only think it is pressure related. People on here helped me to the conclusion that:
- a steady TPMS light (with or without a slight beep, deending on who you talk to) mean that one or more of your tires has its pressure off
- a BLINKING TPMS light means that there is something physically wrong with one or more of the sensors. You can either live with it, or hound Mazda to check each sensor until it stops coming on.
Just my input.....

Okay heres my update, I bought an accurate gague from an autoparts store (not digital) and took my tire pressure this morning when it was 65 degrees outside. The tires were 28, 27, 30, 26 I used the small compressor and set all 4 tires to 32 pounds and so far to tire sensor light.
Seems as though I can cross that off my list of stuff to have the dealer fix.
