Two lugnuts are missing from my Rt rr wheel

Two lugnuts are missing from my Rt rr wheel

I was hearing some weird noises, so I decided to check out my wheels, and behold... the RT Rear wheel is missing TWO lugnuts! one is the lock and one is just the regular one factory nut. I am assuming maybe my stupid *** didnt tighten them enough (cause I am hoping someone wasnt trying to steel the factory rims).

I am assuming I can just buy some standard lugnuts from autozone or something, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

When you go there you want to get Lugs that are 12mm x 1.50 Thread or you can use the net http://www.brandsport.com/golugnuwhlof4.html

I also lost one a week after putting the summer tires back on. Yeah, stupid ****. I am pretty **** about checking that but what the heck, I must not have. Lug nuts do not fall off. Did you put anything on the stud before you put the lug nuts on? Shouldn't, they are a meant to be a dry and clean connection.

Anyway, I bought one for $6 at the dealer since I have the OEM wheels. You can buy after market wheel lug sets for all four wheels for ~$80 to $90. I did not look at Autozone.

You should have 4 lug nuts that came with your car (which were replaced by the wheel locks). Mine were in the trunk next to the jack.

Yah, this is after I put the summer tires back on. SO I guess I should not have sprayed WD40 on the nuts and stud. DAMNIT.

thanks everybody. I'll look for the "spare" nuts, but I dont remember seeing any. Otherwise, the website expo1 gave me will do also. Thanks again.


Better I find out now than while driving on the highway.


one last thing, would a torque wrench be benificial?

A torque wrench is not only beneficial, it is critical. Your strength is as accurate as your butt dyno = not accurate at all...

Tighten to 80 to 85 ft-lbs with the wheels and studs at normal ambient temps.

go to your dealership and ask them if they have any take offs from a new car, I got 2 full sets of lugs that were take offs for free! Normal retail is $5 per lug, so I saved a HUGE amount of $$$

tsb it is now 108 ft lbs.

it doesn't matter if you put axle grease on them, if you torque them to the right spec they aren't coming off by themselves anytime soon ...

Understood, http://www.finishlineperformance.com...2-04-1301b.pdf but if you don't have the noise, I figure 85 ft-lbs is more than enough. That is quite a bit of torque to begin with.
