Update Requested: Back Ordered RX8 Brake Pads

My 8 has the sqeal like many others here and early Nov. I had my dealership order the brake pads that were required per the TSB. Still no luck in getting them in so far with my dealership as they seem to be on national back order.

Starting this thread to see is there are owners out there that might have more "color" on when these might be in. Has anybody heard anything?

Two months back order seems a bit much. Why don't you call another dealer to see if they have some on hand and take your car there for the fix? This dealership is not looking after your best interests.

Yeah, I have tried other dealerships and it seems to be a problem nation wide. I wish that I could pin this on the dealership, but I dont think my problem is unique.

Just hoping somebody in the community has an update.

Sorry to tell you this...My dealer did a few sets last week.

Did the dealer "CSO" the set for you?

If you are waiting for them to come in a stock order it will be a long.

Long

Time.

Most likely the dealer sent the request on a higher priority than Booster's did.

Priority one = hotline...

Priority two = CSO

Priority three = stock order

Stock orders don't usually get filled until all the requests are satisfied.

Thanks Rosenthal, my car is in having the work done today! Rotrypwr, yes this is true pending that your car qualifies for the TSB which should not be a problem.

Heard the same thing about the national backorder from my dealer, they were able to find some from another local dealer and get the job done.

I had mine replaced last week here in Georgia. If there is a national backorder, my dealer didn't seem to be suffering from it.

Tell him that there is a TSB for brake squeal and to look it up. You can also find the TSB here on this site if you do a search. Print it and take it to him.
