Volk Progressiv Spoke Gunmetal
Just got the new Volk Progressiv Spokes in gunmetal for my blue 8. It raised my car a bit. I really need some springs or coilovers. Any suggestions?
Size: fronts: 19x8, 245/35/19
rears: 19x9.5, 275/30/19
What do you guys think of the wheels? Also, anyone that has put on wider wheels in the rear, do the wheels stick out of the fender? Mine stick out an inch or so now. I was hoping that the wheels would sit into the car more. I think the rear offset is +38.

they look great! very nice wheel.
I would have guessed that the 38+ would have fit. I have 39+ 9" and it looks like there is room for .5". Post a shot from the rear so we can see how much they stick out.

Not a big fan of the wheels, te37 would've look nice. Kinda wish put some gold wheels on blue, that would look great!
But a lot of people got the ame setup as u with no major issues with the rear sticking out too much, if it bothers u just get less wider tires.

Wheels look decent.
Thanks for the pic of the strakes+clear corners on winning blue though.. I've been wondering what that would look like. Thumbs up
Oh, are those the satin or polished strakes? I can't tell =/

I would suggest body kit (if this is something you are evening considering)...or at least the appearance OEM package. It "lowers" the car...at least looks that way. I've seen alot of 8 with the MS kit and 19's, and it doesn't need much else. 9.5 in the rear is the widest you're gonna get for Volks anyways. Racing Harts can go as wide as 10.0 (its all about the backspacing)...but they look about the same. You're gonna rub your rear tires even worse if you make the decision to lower your car...plus, you may even gouge (sp?) your tires. Not a good idea with 200$$$$$$ tires.

The wheels look great limpy! But for sure you'll need to lower. Here's a pic of my lowered blue with gunmetal Volk's on 18x8.5's all around, just so you get an idea from a car that already looks a lot like yours The edge of the tyres is just about flush with the fenders (only a +30 offset) maybe just a tad inside. I've since had to raise the rear a bit due to fender scraping.

I like the rims, but somehow it just doesn't look right. I think part of the problem is the tires are too low profile, they look like slot car wheels. The thick fender flare bulges on the car completely dwarf the rubber-band thin tires. It would look better with a beefier looking tire, but there's nothing you can do about it at this time. I really like the rims though...how much were they?

They are 1 piece forged. A distributor told me they were ~18-19 pounds each, but I don't know if he's accurate. They feel heavier than stock. The shipping weight for each wheel + tire inflated was 54 pounds if that helps.

Tires with that low a profile shouldn't weigh very much. Even if the tires are 30 lbs each which I doubt, that means the rims are 24 lbs each; 2 lbs heavier than stock. Hmm....are you sure they're forged and not cast? One of the big benefits of a forged rim is lighter weight than a cast rim. What tires do you have?

^^ That picture looks pretty good. If the original picture was taken right after the wheels were mounted and before the car settled back down to regular height, it may explain why it looks so high.
