VR with Gunmetal Volk GT-C's

I finally installed my wheels. I've had them since December, but I had to wait for the snow to stop. I am pretty happy with how they look on the car.

The lip depends on the offset . I went with an offset that was closer to stock than some have used. The tires are Kumo ecsta MX's.

I think you just confirmed that gunmetal looks great on the red. I would love to get some on my car. Do you have any idea how the finish holds up over time?

I keep thinking about my friends golf clubs w/gunmetal finish on them that has totally rubbed off after less than a couple seasons... of course you won't be hitting golf ***** off your wheels...

The finish is either painted or powder coated, I am not sure. It seems that it would hold up as good as any other wheel's on the market, as most of them are painted too. As long as you don't clean them with an abrasive cloth or cleaner, the finish should last forever.

Well, I have had the new wheels and tires on a couple of days now and I have to say it makes a big difference. The car feels like it has more torque off the line. (I should of weighed this combo before I installed it). With the kumos on, the car feels like it has infinitely more grip than before too. I imagine any performance tire is going to feel better than the snow tires I had on the car though. I guess the real test will come when I get the car out on the track.

Very nice.
I have them in Mercury Silver. (VR also)
I was wondering how the Gunmetal looked.
Good Job !

Mine are a few months old.
The spokes and center hub clean instantly and nothing sticks to them at all.

BUT.. the shiny outer rim is nearly impossible to keep clean.
I do not drive my car in the snow or bad weather.
The first time I missed a weekend wash due to weather, by the next weekend,
I had to rub and rub forever to get the brake dust stains out.
I did wax them, and that worked a while, but after the cold.. its horrible.

Great rims.. but good luck with the cleaning.. haha

I pm'd you right after you got yours. I used the same offset that you gave me. I have had mine nearly as long, I was just not able to put them on because of snow. You told me you were not sure if 245's would fit. After I lower the car and I have worn these tires I will see if I can fit 245/40's instead of 35's. I think they might fit.
