Yeah, I wanted to get mine local, but it would have been literally at least $100 more per corner for me. In fact, when I went to a local shop to check prices, the guy there was kind of a dick, so even had he been competitive in price I wouldn't have given him my business.
Your 8 is black, right? Are you getting the silver or black versions of the listed wheels? I really like the Hotswaps and the F10s. Personally not very big on the Incident, but they're your wheels, not mine, after all :D

I was REALLY tempted to pick up the black V-10s, but they weren't on sale, and I feel like black rims are always a little bit of a risk. When they look good, they are gorgeous, but I think sometimes they look a little bit out of place too. With a black car, you're safer than I am I think (mine is blue), but it looks like all those you are debating have a silver face anyways, which I think is nice because black on black, on a black car, might be just a little too Johnny Cash if you ask me. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.
If you check out discounttiredirect.com (I don't work for them, I swear), they have a "preview" feature where you can get a side view of most of the wheels on your car. It's not a perfect fit obviously, but it might help you decide a bit, and I am pretty sure they have the Hotswaps at least.

Isn't an Enkei wheel an Enkei wheel no matter who you buy it from? I just ordered wheels from Discount Tire Direct - I would have preferred another vendor, but in the end, they had the best price by far, on the same merchandise, so why wouldn't you buy it from them? I don't think Discount Tire stocks all the super high-end brands, but if you find the same wheels there for less, I don't know why you'd pay more just to buy them from somewhere else.
For example, Konig Hotswap 19x8 on Discount Tire Direct are $195 each. Konig Hotswap 19x8 on Wheelsnext are $283 each. Petrol Octane 19x8s are $320 on DTD, $349 on Wheelsnext.
Obviously, customer service and such is important, but I don't know why there would be any difference in quality between vendors for the same wheels by the same manufacturer.

Example: Regualar price for Greddy S/E exhaust: $730 brand new from greddy
Retail price from most stores: ~$680 shipping not included
Price from forum vendor: $600 free shipping (at the time)
These same deals do apply frequently on the forum - you just have to find out some times. I'm not saying you will always find the best deal on the forum vendors, but they're definitely convenient.
another reason would be to support our vendors as we don't have too many shops across the nation willing to help our small car community. They also help support this site yearly by paying for advertisements and such. Iono - perhaps I'm the only one tha thinks this way, but i feel that it kinda helps support this site and the things it offers. I'd pay a little bit more if i knew it could help this place a lil' bit considering how much i've learned from it.

There's no such thing as wrong, just varying degrees of right. I mean, it's an 8, it ALWAYS looks good! I think the black hotswaps with chrome inserts would look great. Plus I think black wheels actually give the illusion of being a larger wheel than it really is, because the line between wheel and tire is less distinguishable.

I think black wheels might not stand out as much on a black car, but if you had chrome accents or a silver face on them, I think it could potentially look really nice.
But again, that's why I think black wheels are kind of a risk - you can never tell exactly how they'll look until they're actually bolted on.
I personally prefer bronze over polished gold, but they both do stand out nicely on a black car.

I also prefer bronze over gold - both are nice IMO, however if i had to choose, it would definitely be bronze.
And yeah...black wheels can come out nice on a black car...you just have to get the right size and drop.
Here's one of my favorite Black on Black combo's
Volk SF Challenge wheels

Yeah, that black on black looks great. But notice the wheels aren't ALL black. I think you need something else in there, even just a center cap or something, that isn't black.

no sleep til it spools
that red car with the VOLK TE 37's, it looks like the rear wheel is slightly (in width and height) bigger than the front. did they just order a bigger set for the rears?
