What yo guys think of these tires!

These tires are used in the summer only Rain or Sun. I never reach speeds or 200km. I corner kinda hard, The current tires on the Rx8 came with the car and they are "Khumo 225/45/18" Dont know that tires and dont know if its good but i find it kinda slippery. My Rx8 is only driven about 3000km a year. Keep in mind im trying to spend less then 1000$.

  1. Hankook Ventus R-S3 @ 275$/each
  2. Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 @ 209$/each
  3. Falken FK-452 @ 160$/each

Keep in mind the tires will be driven 3000km a year max, Rain or sun, never in winter. I will be taking hard corners but nothing too serious. No track or auto cross.

Happy with my Evos. The RS3 might be overkill and slightly bad in the wet. They were also nice to me the few times I drove in temps below freezing.

The RS3 are in a different league than the evo and fk452. They shouldn't be compared. Maybe you should determine if you want a UHP tire or an extreme performance tire, and then choose from that category.

right but like we talked before the RS-3 a prob overkill for what i am doing.
but if i had to go for the evo at 209$ each i would rather dish in 70$ more and get the insane RS-3.

Are the Falken Bad tires? Good Dry/Wet grip?

If you are going to consider the RS3, then you also should consider the Kumho XS, Nitto NT05, Federal 595RSR etc.

If you are not tracking you should look at the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I drove on those tires and they provide a ton of grip on the street, and do reallt good in the rain.

I would not recommend them for the track, I didn't like them there, but were great on the street. You should also be able to get some decent miles out of them. I got about 10k miles with them, but with 5 track days with around 180 miles per day. I would think 20k miles on the street, no problem.

If you're not tracking the car and have the money, I highly suggest the Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

Have gone through a couple different brands over the years.

So far my favorite is the Continental DW. I have a set of DWSs mounted on my new wheels I'll be installing next Friday on account of the DW in the size I wanted being on weird national backorder.

Last I checked the 225x45s are widely available.

Not sure what the availability is where you're from.. I'm guessing Canada or Europe?

ok here is what it comes down to im looking to pay less then 1000$

here are what the costs are:

Falken set of 4 tires + shipping + tax = 848$ total
Hankook ventus V12 evo set of 4 tires + shipping + tax = 996$ total

Are then V12 really worth the 148$ more?
Im guessing both of these are already better then my "khumo Ecsta AST"
so wonder if that 148$ more is worth it

I would recommend researching prices...those prices seem a little high if they are for the 18"s...just type on google the models and you'll see...

Are those the only options? How about Kumho SPT, or Bridgestone RE760, or Kumho LE Sport? What website are you looking at? If you shared the site we might be able to help more.

How about onlinetires.com? I know they have the Federal 595RSR pretty cheap. I think they are about $150 each, plus $75 for shipping. Not sure on the taxes and duties though.
