Wheel Feedback Wanted...
I'm debating on moving down a rim size because I found a set of JIC rims that I really like.
Specs of the rims and rubber are as follows:
17 x 8/ 5 x 114.3/ +38mm/ Chrome
245/25/17 Falken Azeni
Will the RX-8 look weird with 17inch rims? Will these rims fit? Any pics of an RX-8 with 17s?

Why go smaller? If you want Light wheels get the Enkei RPF1s or something cause
1. Those are ugly Rims
2. I wouldnt go smaller then 18s
3. 17s are a Winter Size Rim for me.

there are a few people running 17s. quite honestly i'm sure many wouldn't even notice if it weren't pointed out. that being said, i wouldn't personally go below 18s but that's just me.

those wheels are heavy as ***** if i recall. i would NOT get them in 17s because they would be lighter, but if they would look better--not remotely possible. Get a set you like, not because they are cheaper, etc. Sometimes (actually a lot of times on this forum, unfortanutely) people cheap out and get aftermarket wheels that they can afford rather than wheels that look good on the car. With that said, some of those people wind up with a set of rims that look worse than stock. Stock doesnt look bad anyways... I like the rims you chose, not that size though

I can only imagine the weight of those wheels will be a pretty big increase, plus the Falken Azenis aren't exactly a light tire.. Even dropping down to 17's I would imagine you would end up weighing more than your stock set up.

Weight I couldn't care less about. My parts guy just has a set of these wrapped in those tires he is looking at dumping. My OEM tires are worn and I was just going to replace them, but for the same price I could snag these.

I have a set of 17X9.5 (enkie NT03+M) and people can barely tell that I have 17's, I would go get 16's but it wouldn't clear my brakes... Some people would think that you'd get less feedback and more sidewall flex if you step down an inch or so, but having an 18" wheel with crappy tires is worse than having a set of 17" in any tires with decent sidewall stiffness.
I think J force 07 looks nice and the RPF1's are ugly (point is, it's all about personal preferences) ...and yes they should fit. I say go for it
