Question Wheel spacer info...

I have 18" 7.5" offeset 48 (225/45ZR18 PZero Nero), stock suspension.

I want put wheel spacer of 20mm, rear no problem (I know it's ok whit this wheel 18" 8.5" offset 36 i.e. +20mm), but front? 20mm rubs or works?

Thank you

i just dont recommend you to put spacer onto your car!
if you really want to, the front shouldnt rub neither!

I don't understand why people slam spacers, but oooh and ahhh when someone fits a wheel with a +35 offset. It is exactly the same as using the stock wheel with a 15mm spacer. Obviously, cheap non-hubsentric spacers can be dangerous and cause vibration, etc. But if you purchase a quality spacer it won't effect the handling any different than a more aggressive offset.

EDIT: to OP, yes, your wheels will work up front with a 20mm spacer. Compared to my wheels, which are 8.5 +38, your wheels with spacers (which would be equal to 7.5 +28) will stick out 3mm LESS. Should have no rubbing issues at all.

Exclamation

I had 25mm H&R wheels spacers on the front of my car with the stock wheels and stock tires size, no rubbing and it was perfectly flush. I tracked my car a few times with them, checked the everytime and never had a problem. I just got new wheels and dont need them anymore. they are the kind that bolt onto the hub and the wheel bolts onto them. I'm actually selling them. they are in great shape PM me if your intersted

Sorry for resurrecting this thread so late,

But Ca18 - Did you have 25mm in the bank too? would that push the back past the fender edge? if the wheels are pushed further than the fender is there enough space for it not to rub?

I am thinking of putting 25mm on all 4 factory wheels with 245 tires. I prefer less than 25mm but then the studs would be too long and would rub agaist the factory rim. Any suggestions?

I have 25mm spacers all the way around with 225/45/18 tires. The car is currently lowered 1.25" with Tein Basic, no rubbing. The wheels are perfectly flush with the fender, with 245 it might be very close...

Hi Coldnoodle.

Thank you very much for the response and the great info.

My car is now lowered and on factory wheels...is yours on factory rims too?

If so...and since my car is not lowered, i assume it should clear the fenders without and issue.

Are you concerned that 245 will push the tire outside the fender? as height wise, I think I should have more clearance than your car since mine is not lowered.

One more thing...what kind of spacers do you have and where did you purchase them from>?

Thanks again! much appreciated.

Charlie

Hey, Zoom

Yes, I am still using the 18" OE wheels. If you don't lower your car, I do not think [not 100%, but 95% sure] that you will have problem.

Yes, I was afraid that 245 tires, since they are wider, you will have less clearance. Although, your overall diameter might be smaller than stock spec. [Assuming you are going to use 245/40/18 tires]

I'm using the 25mm hub centric spacers made by TCS. They use my car to do a lot of R&D, so I got a great deal from them.

I see, yes I do use 245/40/18 tires. SO assume i will have enough clearance. My car is in storage for winter, I will go have look at the clearance tommorrow. Do you know a good place to buy the TCS hub centric spacers?

Thanks!

True but 15mm would cause the factory studs to hit the wheel...what do you think?

Don't get those, buy project kics, eibach, or something that has a name.

I say that because with ebay brands it can go either way, you could get something that rocks, or that **** can crack.

On average spacers cost $150/pair.

these are half the price, so it seems to nice and cheap and hub centric...so is the brand name worth double the money..? All their buyers seem to be happy
