Where can I find 17x9 wheels?

I know Good-win has Konigs, and they're nice enough, but I'd like to have a few more choices. So does Rota has them, but those are heavy. It's a pain to find this size, because lot of places, such as Tire Rack, want you to shop by vehicle, rather than by the wheel specs you want, so even if they have them, it's hard to know, because they often won't show a 17x9 if I enter 2005 RX 8. Very frustrating.

Anyone have any suggestions about where I can shop?

Try emailing their customer service and speak to a representative...

If you call TR, they can give you more info/options than the website.

Thanks guys. I tried calling Tire Rack today, but even the guy I talked to seemed to have difficulty finding what I was looking for. Doesn't mean they don't have it, it's the way they have their website constructed that makes it difficult to find stuff by spec.

You want Enkei RPF-1 in 17x9 ET45
Known to fit, light, well made, available in black, bronze, silver and gold.

I'm convinced that the TRMotorsports FF10 in 17x9 ET45 will also fit but I don't have the money to test that theory right now. The backspacing is ~3 mm higher than the RPF-1 so worst case you can put a 3 mm spacer on.

Also, Discount Tire Direct's website shows fifteen 17x9 wheels for 6MT RX-8s.

Thanks for the info. DTD does have a bunch of wheels, but they are brands I'm not familiar with, and they don't list weights, so I won't consider them, but thanks for pointing them out to me.

The FF10 was about the only wheel the TR guy could come up with as a suggestion, so I suppose it would work, but I think he said he'd have to check with the fitment guys, who ever they are.

The Enkei seem like excellent wheels, but the Konigs are much cheaper and weigh just a couple of pounds more. I do like the looks of the RPF 1s more, though.

Thanks for all your help, I think I'll take a look at the TRMs again, before making a decision.

You know you can look up the weights of the Drag wheels on Drag's website, right?

TireRack lists 27 choices for 17x9 if you select 2010 R3. I've got TRMotorsports C3's for my track wheels. Not the lightest choice, but I got them on closeout for a great deal. For track use, absolute lightest weight isn't always better, as stiffness plays a role in speed too and more material (weight) can really help there.

Thanks, I never would have thought of checking for a 2010 R3. Even the TR guy didn't .

DOH! I should have read up on it first. But wouldn't the 'regular' RX-8 models fit 17 inch as well?

Evasive Motorsports has a lot of options available. Just search for 17x9.0 / 5x114, like this.

That's about 6 pages worth of options. You can search more by limiting the search to just 17x9.0. They also have custom wheels if you're looking to get fancy.

AAAAAND this is a 2 year old thread...
