Thanks Dan. Not sure how to check inside diameter ahead of time outside of finding a guy who actually has them locally. Most of the wheel/tire sites don't give much information on the overall dimensions. I can't even get tire rack to let me search just by dimensions. :(

Hmmm - here's a question kinda steming off of shaun's question.
Not having to do so much with if the rim will fit the car but rather - will this fit the rim. I once heard someone say that an incorrect offset can prevent someone from fitting a BBK (Big Brake Kit). Just wondering if there's any truth to this...and if so, can some examples be given? (outside of the obvious i.e. 15" rim trying to fit a bbk that's 17" in diameter ) |
Atilla, with regards to BBK 95% of the time it is with regard to offset or offset/face/disk. Wheel manufacturers will have different disks which allow for BBK or not, and other variations. This usually effects lip and/or curvature. Typically a BBK won't fit a wheel if a wheel's offset is too high.
Yes, every now and then the wheel may physically be too small for a BBK. That would have to be a very BBK though! |
hi guys
am planning to run 19x8.5 ET30 all around with 245/35/19 searched through this thread and got mixed findings, 1 post said it will rub 1 post said it would be fine? will i have problems with rubbing? currently running 18x7.5 et45 and while the slight sunken in look is bearable at the moment, i think it will look weak after my 8 gets kitted up in a few days :banghead: |
^You'll be fine.
|
ah thanks man :)
just found out that the seller only sells it as a staggered package :icon_no2: the rears are 19x9.5 ET 35 will i have to roll my fenders? |
That will depend on the tires you use. If you go with 255's you will likely be OK
265/275 you will likely need a roll and more camber |
18X9 with a 35mm offset running 255/40R18s? Currently stock height, but planning on running coilovers.
|
You should be fine.

sooo.....
18x10 +24 w/ 275/35 all around? |
^ sure if you want to cut about an inch out of you wheel wells :)
|
not gonna fit with that much rubber, dont get why everyone wants to run 275s
|
^^ you are such an optimist......:) It really won't fit with any tires that make sense ;)
|
I see the good lol
|
how about a 18x9.5 0mm with a 10mm spacer. extra wide rolled rims.
|
You are kidding Right ;)
There is no way in hell...short of a Sawsall those will fit |

They won't fit......unless you remove the wheel wells and add big flares
Stick with a 10" 40 offset that will fit..... |

FYI: 255/40/17 on 17x7x40 fits! :) The wheels are too narrow for the 255 but it fits with my lowered setup. |
well I am actually working on getting custom wheel wells similar to the aponte set up. giving a lot more room all around.

Need advice on whether this is functionally-sound (I'm sure it will fit :)):
18x9.0 +31mm offset 245/40 tires Car has Racing Beat lowering springs (with Tokico D-Spec shocks).. Also, is another alignment necessary or beneficial at all? The car was aligned to factory settings after the suspension work was done a while back. I am sort of hoping I can swap my stock wheels+tires whenever (ex. winter) without needing re-alignment. Would I see any performance degrade because of the new wheel/tire set-up? Many thanks! |

18x9.0 +31mm offset 245/40 tires Car has Racing Beat lowering springs (with Tokico D-Spec shocks).. ya that shouldn't be all too much of a problem, the change in tires isn't too extreme and with the d-spec shocks it should turn out fine. below is talk from another forum at 32mm Posted: Tue Nov 14, 2006 3:16 am Post subject: RX-8 'Stock' Wheel/Tire/Shock Improvements & Specs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using G-Tech Pro meter for measurement. Right off the Showroom floor (6-Spd/Sport Suspension Package/225-45 Bridgestones): .93G's (Left or Right) Added BFG g-Force KDW-2's (225/45): .96G's (but just ate up the right front) Added Tokico D-Specs (full firm) & SSR COMP-H/Kuhmo MX's: 1.01G's Added Enkei RPF1 (18x9.5's) & Azeni 615RT's (275/35): 1.1G's ---- I suspect putting 245/40 R-Comp's on the SSR's she could grab 1.25. Thanks Brian for all the ideas/suggestions. Aloha, Tom |
Wow awesome. That just makes me sleep easier :).. I have the wheels sitting in my room waiting for the tires that are being delivered to my door this week. I was afraid I made the wrong choice going with +31mm vs an available +40mm offset for the same wheels.
