ac3: so i would have to roll my fender for the 9.5 huh?
|
Jedi paging Jedi. :wavey: i need some feedback!
|
For 275s yes. For 255s no.
|
^correct
I run the 275 tire and the tire rubbed very slightly when i first had it installed, if I ran a 255, then it wouldn't have. sorry i didn't respond earlier, i had to grab some lunch

no worries, you guys are helping so thats all that matters. i didnt know ish about rims and tires till today. i kinda get it now thanks to you guys.
okay so (Rear) 19x9.5 +30 wit 255. Front 19x9.5 +37 255 or other? |
i don't think they make a 9.5 +30 in the gts, only a +37 or +28
|
that's the link to the current offsets offered on the gts
http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/2009/pro...9&for=domestic are you trying to go for the same look front and rear? or do you want it to look different? |
thats what im not to sure on. the 28 rear is like wow and 30 would be perfect but if i have to go wit 37 i could live with that.
for the fronts im completely stumped. |
well, the 28 and 37 will give you the same size lip on the wheel, so if you want, get the 37 and use a spacer if its not pushed out enough for you.
for the front, do you want to have different sized wheels and tires than the rear or the same? |
Yea you can run 9.5 +37 with 255s all around easy. Even a 5mm spacer or something for the back to look good like the front.
|
you can actually run a 10mm spacer in the back and it'll look awesome, since your tire would be 20mm narrower than mine, you could use the 10mm spacer and your tire would fit like mine currently does.
as for the front, i think if you run a 37 as well and with the 255 tire itll look nice :yumyum: |

if you roll the fender. I'm all for the 10 mm spacer. I need to order some when I get the money.

rays doesn't make the 30 anymore in 9.5 only 8.5 they used to make more offsets, like if you see, they don't make my +36 front wheels anymore they had wheel faces A, B, and C when i ordered mine, my front is an A while the back is a C the old 30 offset would actually give him less lip since it was an A type face which leaves more room for a BBK but less lip |
i say the same all around just to play it safe for now till i can figure out how id like the front.
|
remember, you can always use a spacer to achieve a "lower" offset than the wheel currently has but there really isn't anything to undo an offset that's too low
|
Ross what do you think about +28? and NO SPACERS!
|
its not gonna give you anymore lip than the +37 will, the face of the wheel is deeper so it'll look exactly the same as if you had a spacer
|
do it joe im doing 18x9.5+22 around christmas or newyears
|
i dont want a spacer, cant i just get the rim wider instead?

255/40 is basically stock diameter. With 255/35 you can get way more aggressive due to the shortened diameter, but if you are stock ride height don't stress that one. It's only important on lowered cars. Your rears should be sitting pretty good, but your fronts will stick out a little bit more and will require some negative camber to make it evenly "flush" with the rear. It will be a SUPER nice setup. If you really don't feel confident for some reason, you can get the 18x9.5 + 40 all around and just run some spacers on the rears :dunno:.
Wheel: 18x9.5 +34 Tire: 255/40 If I don't run with a negative camber on the fronts, will that look odd? It'll just stick out past the fender a bit right? Anyone got a photo of what this would look like? If I *were* to run with a negative camber up front, will that really affect the way the car handles? I know that it's supposed to help with cornering, but hurt straight line acceleration. But that's really the extent of camber knowledge I have.... |
well every inch you go wider, the rim will get 25.4 mm wider, so if you got a +37 10.5 versus a +37 9.5, it will appear from the outside as if the 10.5 is a +25, also, then you start running into issues with space to your suspension, im not sure about how much space is left so i can't say it'll work or not, but +28 would look dope, make sure though the fronts would fit right though, im not sure
|
19x9.5 +28 is plush! that would look way more aggressive.

it wouldn't look weird, i think it would look good, i have to say though that a bit more neg camber won't really hurt straight line acceleration but it will degrade your tires much quicker
Also, with all this offsetting, does the handling suffer at all? I know stock offset is +50. +34 seems to be a big adjustment... |
