when i get home im going to get the spec's of the wheel well and see how much room im playing with. that way i can get a feel for this.

Your stock camber is slightly negative. You wouldn't need much more negative camber. Go for it. Your handling won't suffer. @ Butters

J03K1LLARX8 08-05-2009 05:43 PM

so 9x9.5 +28 255 rear???

J03K1LLARX8 08-05-2009 05:44 PM

i think for the front i might go 8.5 :dunno:

Spinning Sushi 08-05-2009 05:45 PM

Real JDM people from JDM Land (aka Japan) do 9.5 in the front and 5.0 in the back.... on a RWD car!

J03K1LLARX8 08-05-2009 05:46 PM

^ @ John!

You and me both, J03. This is why forums are around... to spread knowledge. Thanks everyone!

Well, I'm not into have faster tire wear, so maybe running with zero camber and having it stick out more would be fine. I just would like to see this in a photo....

Also, with all this offsetting, does the handling suffer at all? I know stock offset is +50. +34 seems to be a big adjustment...

Honestly its not too bad to run neg camber, i have a ton in the back of my car and the wear is only slightly uneven. When the wear starts to get a bit more noticeable, ill have the tires swapped so the portion that used to be on the outside of the right wheel will be the inside of the left, etc.

Handling if anything will probably slightly increase because your tires would be further out giving you a better stance with the weight carried further out. Honestly though the difference is slightly more than half an inch further out on each wheel so its hardly noticeable.

I just put on my brand new advan Rs 18x9 +29 and they are rubbing.
The tires are Nitto NT555 tires. They are 255-35/18.

Can I fit them with a roll and some neg camber or should I opt for swapping out tires?

dannobre 08-05-2009 09:37 PM

They should be OK with a roll..they must be close as they are

more camber and roll u good, or just do a pull and you'll have a lot more room.

So I was thinking of going bigger. I think my 8 needs some beef. What you guys think, will one of these fit? I think I may need to roll the fenders, but I am not sure. I think I might be able to get away without doing the roll.

^What size drop are you looking at getting? With that width tire you're going to need to have a near stock offset. :lol2:

eduncks 08-07-2009 07:19 PM

im thinking about getting TSW Mondello rims for my 2004 rx8. here's the link http://www.tsw.com/alloy_wheels_mondello.php will these fit?

Atilla 08-07-2009 07:30 PM

please no.

there are many more styles out there for our cars that compliment our lines and stance.

but to answer your question, you're going to need to provide specs

thejew89 08-07-2009 08:36 PM

im lookin at buyin a new set of the same rims i have now but in 18x9 +28.

im slammed on tein basics and running a 245/40 and will be using the same tires im on now with the new wheels.

Atilla 08-07-2009 08:37 PM

^you'll be fine

thejew89 08-07-2009 08:38 PM

Yeah, should be easy after a pull, I'm actually looking at a setup similar but +10 and I was going to go with 255

Ross_Dawg 08-07-2009 09:43 PM

what tire with the 255? I love the nt-05 or xs which only comes in 245 :(
