I'm_Danomite had the cr-kai in stagger and then went to 9.5 all around.

Fit?

I'm looking at a set of DXR wheels through eBay. Dimensions are as follows:

18X8, +40mm offset with a tire size 225/45ZR18, on all four corners. How would they fare?

would rims that are 19 x 9.5 42 fit a tire that is 225/40/19?

please, i need this question answered fast

Catspaw 08-22-2009 04:02 PM

After many, many sleepless nights I've narrowed my search for new rims down to the following (trying to stay STX legal):

Buddy Club P1 Racing SF 18x9 +40
OZ Ultraleggera 18x9 +55
WEDS SA70 18x9 +42
Gram Lights 57 Maximum 18x8.5 +45

Not sure what would be the best tire setup, but I'm looking at 255/35 and 265/35.

This would all be with the Mazdaspeed Springs and Dampers (0.8" drop all around). Any suggestions or definite no-nos?

J8635621 08-22-2009 05:00 PM

Those will all fit easily.

getemslough 08-24-2009 04:28 PM

ok i think this is gonna work fine and be similar to the enkie rpf1 setup but i figured id check just in case.

18x9 +46 with 265/35/18 in all four corners. lowered on ms shocks and tien s-techs.

wheels are konig runaways and tires are nitto NT555. if anyone has pics of these wheels installed on a tg that would be cool. also suggestions on tire choise are welcome im pretty much all street now may hit one or two auto-x events in the life time of these tires.

^those will fit easily

please don't do this to an rx8

pistonkilla 08-24-2009 11:52 PM

im running 19x9.5 + 35 and they are hella flush. line up perfect with the fenders. no rubbing or rolling required , i can get maybe a finger in between though on stock suspension

J8635621 08-25-2009 03:01 AM

Lol I don't think that necessarily fits the definition of "hellaflush." Probably looks really good though. Hellaflush is "I can maybe fit one of those cheap, flimsy hotel keys in between."

yea maybe that was a bad choice of words. but its very tight without a drop. now just maybe need some s-techs and we shall be "hella flush" lol

Your not even close to being flush, maybe if you get some 20mm spacers.

you have to see it in person, my pics do it no justice. it lines up perfect with fenders...just need to slam it down now

getemslough 08-25-2009 05:13 PM

:tear:wait a min the 18x9 konigs i was looking at are actually a +30 is this still gonna fit with the 265/35/18 nt555:fingersx: remember lowered tein s-tech thanks!

getemslough 08-25-2009 05:14 PM

If you haven't rolled your fenders, there is still a massive lip between your wheel and the fender.

You'll most likely need a roll.

J8635621 08-25-2009 08:17 PM

Just checking the definition of flushness. Couldn't say 18x9.5 +35 with 275s be flush in the back with say stock alignment/fender roll/no pull, but 18x9.5 +15 be flush with 265s and more negative camber/roll/pull? So it's dependent on pull/camber?

tiltmode43 08-25-2009 08:39 PM

You can camber in so much it ends up not really being flush.

Also, the lower you go, the less flush you'll be, even with proper camber.

If you pull the fenders out you can effectly make the wheel appear more sunken in. A good tell of flushness is how far out to the side the wheel sticks out from the bottom of the bumper.

Crazy how the whole flush thing took off around here. For a while no one really card or talked about it, getting pretty popular now. I for one went through the phase of only caring about performance but after owning the car long enough I got confident with doing body modifications that would make other owners cringe.

j - forgot to add, I don't know how flush a sqaured out tire can really be, needs to have a bit of stretch to really be flush.

klanham08 08-26-2009 12:37 PM

Will 245/45ZR17 Kumho Ecsta ASX Blackwall tires work for all for rims on an 04' 8?

Or should I get smaller tires for the front?

parkpy 08-26-2009 12:37 PM

Hello All,

I know that the 17x7" wheels off a Mazda 3 will fit an RX8 with a manual transmission, but will 17x6.5?

I am tired of getting stuck in the snow.

imput1234 08-26-2009 01:18 PM

^it probably will "fit", but I would highly NOT recommend it.
