^Are those winter wheels? If so then yes they will fit. If they are not well...Don't get anything less than 8" wide. It's just not good.

mybayse3p 08-30-2009 03:14 AM

hey can i get bigger tires on my oem rims and my car is 1.7 front drop and rear is 1.2 with mazda speed kit...i was thinking 235/50/r18 will it raise my car a lil? will its scrap? do i have to get my fenders rolled if i get them?

TopGear8 08-30-2009 10:40 AM

^It'll fit but wont look good..

I have stock wheels painted graphite gray and I used 25mm spacers all around. I want to lower the car now and I am nit sure if I would have rubbing (Stock offset +50 - 25mm spacers = +25mm offset right now). Please let me know if you guys think I would have rubbing and also what springs do you guys recommend. Also I have not done suspension work before, is it easy todo myself or would it best to get it done professionally?

If you have a little bit of negative camber you should be fine and not rub. As far as springs well...How much of a drop do you want. S Techs, Eibachs, Racing Beat, Progressive Tech, they are all good, and all offer different drops. Do some research and pick which ones are best for you.

As far as installing, its easy to do just very time consuming. Get a local to help you out and set a day aside to do it.

Hmmm... I think you mean 245/35/19

A 40 sidewall is too much

9krpmrx8 09-02-2009 09:01 PM

I know they will fit the 8 but will 18 x 7.5 Mazdaspeed 3 wheels hold a 245/40-18 tire? I can basically get the rims for next to nothing and I have a extra set of tires. ideally I want an 8" or wider and lighter track rim but....... Your thoughts?

TopGear8 09-02-2009 09:08 PM

Track rim...You want to use a 18x7.5 as a track rim?

NO

:banghead:

9krpmrx8 09-02-2009 09:52 PM

If a 245 tire fit, no? I figured no, but i thought someone would chime in and tell me how the .5" made no difference, haha. Wishful thinking.

TopGear8 09-02-2009 10:08 PM

If a 295 Hoosier will fit a 8" wheel. Then yes a 245 will fit a 7.5" wheel. But should you do it. No..

9krpmrx8 09-02-2009 10:09 PM

Yeah. Oh well. I just see speed3 guys running 245/40-18's and they say its great but i don't know if i trust it.

40 sidewall on a 19 is typically comparable to a 35 sidewall on an 18.

HUH? rolling diameters are vastly different..........

If you go to a 19" you need to drop the profile to keep the same rolling dia

So you would go from a 40 to a 35 all things being equal

i'm sure he meant 45

srinivasadi 09-03-2009 08:51 AM

I decided togo with Tein S techs. I think the drop in front is 1.4 and rear 0.8. Now with the setup i have 18x8 +25mm. Will I be good? I dont want to have too much of negative camber.

ok cool. Thanks man.

Sparks91188 09-04-2009 04:00 AM

I am looking into getting some Enkei PKR rims now that I have some cash (not alot but some) and was wondering which would be better to go with in order to keep the stock size tires. I just had them replaced about 3-4 months ago cause my old Kumho Ecsta where showing some steel cord. I really do not want to spend another 500 or more on tires for a while. I am still on stock rims as well. Here are the 2 options I am wondering about:

1. F&R 18 x 7.5 38 offset

2. F&R 18 x 8.5 35 offset

I am also considering getting some Tein S Tech or maybe H Tech springs, but not for a while

Will this work and if so which one is better to go with?

Thanks

J8635621 09-04-2009 07:11 AM

Well the 18x8.5 will look a ton better thats for sure. Both will fit though. It's sort of retarded to get aftermarket rims that are thinner than stock. You won't rub if you lower it either.

trandi47 09-04-2009 07:29 AM

Hm, was thinking about some 18" x 9,5" with 35 offset.

Anyone know if I can fit 265/40 rear on that without it rubbing? Or do I have to go for a 35?
Probably 18" x 8,5" front or so with 225 or 230 x 40 or 35 if I have to.

imput1234 09-04-2009 07:34 AM

You should be good, you can do that in the front too. might run it to some very minor problems if u are low tho because of the sidewall.
