For what you're asking though

17x9 - i'd go with +15
17x10 - i'd go with +25

reasoning is because of the tires you suggested.
Thanks man!

If you pull and want poke, + 12 would be better. 17x10 +25 is the same setup I'm at, and the rear wheel is flush, and tire is sunken. Fronts are sunken. This is also with about -2.7 camber all around, with a mild pull. No poke. You can also run x10 all around.

If you wanna be flush, you'll be fine:

^^so maybe +15 up front and +12 in the rear? And yeah, I doing a pretty aggressive pull w/ alot of camber, so i'd prefer a bit of poke over just being flush. Mind you this car will not be a daily. Thats what i'm picking a beater S10 up for, lol.

Yes i did read many posts before making one.

I see the newer RX-8s come with 18 or oven 19 stick rims. But I am not sure if my old 2003 will be able to take 19s or not. I do not know if things got changed in newer models.

So, can i go with 19? or 18 is max for me?

And from the other posts what i understand, for front i can go with 255 (or 245?) and 275 for rear without modifying anything?

your 2003 = our 2004, and a couple people have run 20" rims with no problems. I have 19's and have zero problems

As for tire width, it all depends on the offset of the wheel you choose

I have the option of getting a good deal on some wheels but they're 17-7 +48. From calculations, it says wheel will retract by 10mm. I can get same wheels with +40 but will be much more expensive. I'll be fitting them on 245/45-17 all around. Is the fitment too poor to consider the cheaper option?

Those tires are way too wide for a 7" wheel

You'd have to start out with 17x8 and then we can talk offsets

^^Thanks, I had a feeling that was the case. Don't know why some wheels don't give 7.5, 8, etc options. I think limitation is choosing 17in. Many more options when going 18. I could use 225/50-17 I guess but wanted the wider 245's.

yes you could use 225's; rule of thumb for any car: dont go below the oem width of your rims unless the rims in question will be used for winter (ie the thinner the better)

so, you can get 17x8 and any offset below +48 should be fine

Yeah man you can make that work. Rolled / pulled fenders and 255/35/18 tires with a little neg camber those would look good. Lookin for some Volks? CE28's? TE37's?

Ok, so hopefully this is the last time I bug you guys. I couldn't get the 17x8 rims but I can get a good deal on 17x7. So, instead of 245 tires I'll obviously have to get 225. Setup would be:

225/50-17 all around
17x7 +40 front and rear.

Seems fine to me but I know nothing

I still may go 245/40/18 with 18x8.5 +35 if I can get a good deal, but this setup has been noted already to be fine I believe.

Another one, just to confirm...

17x8.5 +30?

( I know, I should just buy something already )

You didn't say a tire size, but it almost certainly will work.

Definitely work. 245/40/17 is a bit smaller than stock outer diameter. 245/45/17 is closer and roughly the equivalent of 245/40/18.
