Ok, so im looking at getting Enkei AKP 20" x 9.5" wheels, what size tires can i get and still not be rubbing im not lowered or anything. Thanks
Um ..yes is that a bad thing? I might just go with 18's instead though. Im really liking the SP05 and going 18" x 9.5" - 35 - 5/114.3 for the rear, and 18" x 8" - 40 - 5/114.3 for the front. But i still dont know what size tires to get. Any recommendations?
hmmm im not familiar with the sp05, could you post a pic? Also, why do you want a staggered setup?
I just think it looks pretty sweet, im not really after the performance or anything...yet. The pic is at http://enkei.com/rp05.html.
got a deal for a Buddyclub QF 17x9 +28.
This might be too aggressive right? The front must be sticking out of the fender, the rear might need fender roll... Any idea? |

They are kinda heavy but if you said you dont care about performance than by all means go with what design you like best! If you get 18x9.5 +35 you will have to roll your rear fenders unless you get some 255/35/18 tires. 275/35/18 is about as wide as you want to go on 9.5's.

Hey,
I need help with tire sizes... fronts = 19x8.5 w/ +35 offset rears = 19x9.5 w/ +45 offset Im interested in stretching, but open to anything... I also need help with what spacers i would need to get them to be flush with the fenders... Any help would be appreciated. |
And in your opinion, what would look better same size all around, staggered with 8" in the front or 8.5" in the front with 9.5" in the back? One of my friends accused me of trying to turn my 8 into a muscle car by staggering the rims,i think it would look pretty sharp, but i would rather hear what someone who knows for sure...
i say 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears :)

Tires: If you want that mild stretched look, 225/35/19 in front with 245/35/19 in back. These specs will get your rims to sit square with your fenders. If you want the rims to stick out a bit more than the fender, up the spacers by 5mm.

The 8.5" in front and 9.5" in back is a popular combo, but if it were me, Id rock 9" in front and 10" out back. |
heh. go ross, go! :smoker:
p.s. -if you're gonna buy new wheels - just get the right size. If you haven't already bought the wheels or the spacers - just save up a lil' more and get the right fitment instead of getting the wrong fitment and force it :bigok: |
Enkei RP-03
18 x 9 Front and Rear Offset 18 or 40 mm Tires 265/40/18 275/35/18 Will this setup work or will I have to find a 9" wheel with an offset closer to 30 - 35 mm. Thanks!! |
18x9+40 will work with those tires and shouldn't need a roll (member named Broda has that size). Most people get 265/35 FYI, but I'm not sure if that is because it's cheaper/more common/better gearing or what. 18x9.5 +38 fits pretty nicely as well with those tire sizes, but will need a roll.
Ok I thought they would fit alright. Do you think 275 is too wide for a 9" wheel. These will be used for HPDE and autocross as well as some light use on the road. 265/35/18 throws off the speedo a good bit. I was trying to stay away from that. I'm also planning on lowering the car on Progress Tech springs or H&R springs. I can't go with the S techs. Too low for where I drive. Let me know your thoughts. I appreciate the input
If it were my car, I wouldn't go any higher than 265 on a 9" rim. 275's barely fit on my 9.5" rim (they were very wide though)
I have pretty bad roads where I live, and I'm lower than S-techs now. I haven't even scraped anywhere since I am always looking out for stuff like holes, speedbumps, sinkholes, etc. It looks much better being low. Keep in mind that with 265/40 your car will actually ride higher than stock and have higher gearing, but it should be perfectly fine.
alright so im looking at a 19x10 tenzo type-m on the rear with a 22mm offset. sitting on s.techs. will it fit? i know it will need a fender roll. and can any one can recommend a tire size?
245/35/19 could probably work with just a roll and camber lol. It's a similar setup to what a couple people have had with 17x10 +25 with 245s. I think they either rubbed or had to do some more work. Someone else with a better idea should chime in.
255 would be good. Since your not that low, you shouldn't run it to much problems.
please tell me you're not then getting the 19x8.5 +45 for the front?
nah ill probably stick with 18x8s on the front. they only have 8" for the 18s. bad idea?o and i know about the "So you think staggered tires/wheels are a great idea?" thread. i am not an autox'er and i dont take corners fast enough to care abvout understeer. i just like the look of fatty tires in the back. and to be perfectly honest ill probably just stick with 18x8s all around cause i just bouught new rubber.

Hi all,
am getting my rays wheels soon F: 19x8.5 +43 R:19x9.5 +43 my question is possible tires combination : option1 : F: 245/40 R: 245/40 option2 : F:245/35 R: 245/35 option3 : F: 245/35 R:255/35 Which option do you think the most suitable for daily use? Thx a lot. |
^Definitally go with option 3. The 255/35 will be much better for the rears. Personally I would go with a 265 or 275 in the rear with the 245 up front.
Thanks bro, was thinkin 265/35 for the rears as well...or 275/30 for the rears?
