^Whatever you can find for a better price...go with that. they will both be good choices.

Ross_Dawg 11-18-2009 02:37 AM

If I were you I'd get a little lower offset. You wont rub even with your 265's in the back.

Thanks alot for the advise bro...the wheels i ordered is Rays Volk CE28N bronze adn the shop only have offset +43 available for both for F and R...

imput1234 11-18-2009 08:22 AM

^cool wheel, sizing kinda sucks tho.

pcs 11-18-2009 02:18 PM

I *THINK* I'm pretty safe... but i'm looking at:

17x8 +44 w/ 245/45/17s

or

18x9 +40 w/ 255/40/18s

stock suspension, want to be using it as track rubber... I'm actually worried about it being overkill on grip for a stock 8 on the track...

imput1234 11-18-2009 02:54 PM

You good.

J8635621 11-18-2009 03:02 PM

Both perfectly fine and not overkill for an 8 on the track.

Ross_Dawg 11-19-2009 12:45 AM

18x9 +40 definitely my choice. 17x8 is not a good choice if you're looking to get any real tire on there for the track.

I am trying to find a inexpensive set of wheels for winter tires.

I found a guy selling a set of 16" steel wheels that he used on a Mazda 3s.

Will they fit? Or are my calipers too large?

Thanks.

J8635621 11-19-2009 11:08 AM

16s won't fit since you have the GT package/manual transmission brakes.

treitz 11-19-2009 01:19 PM

Bummer... 17's will though yes?

Ross_Dawg 11-19-2009 03:13 PM

depends on offset and wheel width

J8635621 11-19-2009 03:38 PM

17s will clear the caliper, but offset/width/tire are also important to know for "will it fit."

Ross_Dawg 11-19-2009 07:39 PM

some rub suspension components so ya gotta double check; but yes, 17's will clear stock gt calipers

Im on a 8.5 wheel...im sure the offset is same as stock but whats the widest tire i can run..? im planning a drop maybe 1" front and .5 back....

J8635621 11-22-2009 08:45 PM

So you don't know the offset for sure? If 8.5 +50, then you should be able to run a wider tire than you would ever want to for the street. I'd say go with 255s.

Ross_Dawg 11-22-2009 08:55 PM

255/30/20? i dont even know what sizes are available for 20's lol

Zumn fix your toe, i know you're not running that much camber. Your inside got burnt up.

ZumnRx8 11-22-2009 09:18 PM

I think i am^ thanks buddd... maybe in two weeks ill buy tires, i am running that much camber... and whenpeople sit in the back its worse..

pdxhak 11-22-2009 09:47 PM

255 will fit on a 8.5" no problem

pdxhak 11-22-2009 10:06 PM

Is the offset stamped or on a sticker?

ZumnRx8 11-22-2009 10:15 PM

^^^stamped... im just to lazy to take off the wheel since i am going to take them off for tires soon anyways... and the paper work... i dont wanna look through my file folders...

but most likely i am going to run 245 which i know NEO GENS come in ..if NITTO makes 255 for NEO GENS then most likely i will run those.... THANKS^

TopGear8 11-22-2009 10:18 PM

Your welcome.

J8635621 11-23-2009 12:06 AM

Why so much camber when you don't have an aggressive set up?

Ross_Dawg 11-23-2009 12:53 AM

The last time I saw your setup Zumn, you didnt have any noticable camber (aka -1.5)

Your tires show much more than a normal -1.5 wear.
