Should fit without rolling fenders.

Ross_Dawg 12-01-2009 03:08 PM

Just wondering why you want stretched tires when your offset will allow 275's on back and 245 up front?

RPM-Rush 12-01-2009 05:01 PM

With my setup 18x8.5 35OS, dropped on tanabe GF210's 235/40/18 . will this look slammed or? Thnx again

Leonardo Rosas 12-01-2009 05:07 PM

how bout 255/40/18x8 all around on stock suspension

"Slammed" can only be achieved with coilovers, so no.

255's are too fat for an 8" rim. 245/40/18 is a very popular size for the stock rim.

It will fit, but it is a bit too much tire like he said.

Will it look good though? Sorry i keep asking that, where i live their arent very many RX8's with Aftermarket wheels on them. Thank you guys for all your help and Replies!:grouphug: now if only if someone could tell me if the Tanabe GF's wasa smart and wise Decision!

Exact same wheels specs

My opinion:
If you like the stretched look, please take a look at the 'AGGRESSIVE WHEEL FITMENT' thread. +43 on a 10' wide wheel is only the beginning. Search forum member TILTMODE - here's his thread: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/silver-takata-green-british-black-sbc-gold-work-metal-buff-orange-187015/

also - rule of thumb. Stretched tires look ok (to some)with the correct fitment however stretched tires on TUCKED wheels suck....period. If the wheels aren't 'hella flush' i wouldn't bother aiming for the stretched look.

Hope this helps :)

Mazda_RX804 12-02-2009 09:39 AM

i can get spacers no?

Leonardo Rosas 12-02-2009 10:11 AM

thanks guys i just wasn't sure i guess i'll save $$$ on the 245's instead of the 255's i just like the wide look on tires

Leonardo Rosas 12-02-2009 10:14 AM

oh i forgot to ask, im currently running 225/45/18 and i was wondering if get 245/40 will the space between the fender and tire will be much bigger than 40's? sorry my lack of knowledge but i when i got to the tire shop i just want to go and order the right set up without the guys saying anything haha

mike[piston eater] 12-02-2009 10:29 AM

no the diameter is the same, the profile is the aspect ratio, a 225/45 the side wall is 45% of the width, a 245/40 the sidewall is 40% of the width but its wider, you maitain the same profile so it wont fuck with your speedo

Leonardo Rosas 12-02-2009 10:38 AM

awesome thanks ... now i can walk in with confidence haha

mike[piston eater] 12-02-2009 10:43 AM

245/40 is a good upgrade on the stock wheels thats what i run and it was a great inmprovement over the stock 225s

Leonardo Rosas 12-02-2009 10:57 AM

good t o know .. i don't have the stock wheels but they new ones are same size :) thinking on getting some pilot sports

RPM-Rush 12-02-2009 11:59 AM

Helllo......Here's a noob Question...yet again. But, I was wondering? Will 235/40/18 be stretched on 18x8.5 Rim?

Thanks again!
