Highest as in inner clearance/suspension. We know the 18x9.5 +45 w/275 fits but how much space beyond that is there?
Just realized, Nuke was running 18x10.5 +43, thats 11mm more inward than the rpf1 setup. Anything higher?

Hey Atilla, you know somebody on this Forum who has 18x9.5 30 OS. He is Running 275/35/18 Tires , Lowered on Tein( I think S.Tech could be wrong. Well anyways he had minor Rubbing Issue's. I would be running 255/40/18 Tires. Wouldnt you say i could get away without a roll? Or maybe just roll two fenders? Just thought id ask. Oh Btw way I am reffering to Rota P45R's Those were the Rims i want. Thanks Again!

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1894472 Someone that doesn't know what wheels to get should get these. FYI: I don't know what the wheels are worth, but I like them and they would fit without too much trouble.

I have 9.5 +33 with 245s in the rear, and I have to say that I'm very close to needing a roll. 275s didn't have just a "little rubbing" I promise. You will definitely have to roll the rear even with 255s. Try asking the guy with the 9.5 +30 rims. I'm sure he will let you know what to expect.

If you have tanabe springs, it is 1.4" drop front and 1.2" drop rear. I have about the same amount of drop in the rear. I'm going to run 255/40/18 on 18x9.5 +28 in the rear as soon as I get another set of tires, and I will not need a pull. It is dependent on camber a little bit though. I'd be very surprised if 9.5 +30 didn't fit with just a roll.

Thanks alot man! You have been tons of help! So would you definetly say go with the 18x9.5 30 OS setup? I dont mind if i have too roll the rears only. Thats fine but i just dont wanna pull my fenders! right now i would be running 235/40's but later it will be 255/40's. I am getting a super good deal on a set of Rota P45R's in FlatBlack. I am on a budget! Besides you guys get all the good stuff in the U.S anyways! Cheers Bro!

235/40's are 100% acceptable for a 9.5" rim. There will be a slight stretch but it is not outside manufacturer recommended widths, you'll be A-OK.
Here's a pic for reference:
255/35 won't technically have any stretch on a 9.5, 255mm is, after all, just over 10".
Here's a pic of a 255 on a 9.5 for reference:
rx8club is used to fitting the absolute widest tire on a given wheel and we have all been branded to think a slight bulge = fitting square on a wheel. It all started with those damn autocross ***** back in '04!

Keep in mind I'm only making comments on those tire sizes Vs wheel width rather than how the wheel will fit. Generally, if questionable at all, always go a tad skinnier rather than wider. If you go a bit skinnier you can judge how much extra space you've got. If you go wider, you risk running into problems of fender rubbing. In the end tires eventually wear out and you can always go wider if you deem proper clearance.
Have fun with the new wheels!
