i know kelrx8 has 20x9 with a 40 but he has toyo t1r's

chrism 03-22-2008 10:14 AM

apparently it was my body kit and not the fenders that were rubbing....so +35 is ok on a 9.5 w/o a roll

AlisterMcRae 03-22-2008 10:09 PM

Thanks for this thread, I do not know much about wheels/tires but I am thinking about new wheels, how would these work? I am lowered w/tein springs and koni shocks if that helps.

Wheels
Axis Penta Staggered
19 x 8.5 Front
19 x 9.5 Rear

Tires:
Front Size: 235/35/19
Rear Size: 265/30/19

or I could do this setup:

Wheels:
Axis Penta Staggered
19 x 8.5 Front
19 x 9.5 Rear

Tires:
Front Size: 235/35/19
Rear Size: 275/30/19

chrism 03-23-2008 09:07 AM

depends on the tire and offset......the first set is what i have with a +35

Are your rear tires 265 or 275 with +35?

chrism 03-23-2008 09:01 PM

19x9.5 + 35 265/30

Nopstnz8 03-24-2008 12:23 AM

Will these tires fit on my current rims with no issues?

Size: 245/35/20 on all 4.
Rims: 20x8.5 with a +35 offset on all 4.

chrism 03-24-2008 06:57 AM

short answer......yes

Nopstnz8 03-24-2008 11:00 AM

What do you short answer...yes?

Nopstnz8 03-24-2008 11:44 AM

If 245/35/20 won't fit, what about 245/30/20 on all 4's.

Spazzychaz 03-24-2008 02:52 PM

Well, I am lookign at a set of rims and want to check to see if they fit.

Car info: lowered with tein flex just the regular lowering rate
tire info:
19x9.5 offset +35
w/ 275/30/19 all the way around.

tires are kumho ecsta supra.

Let me know if they fit.

Jedi54 03-24-2008 03:34 PM

I don't see 19x9.5 +35 fitting up front; let alone with a 275 tire. Most people go with 245's up front or try and squeeze in 255's.

flooded

My engine is flooded. Is there a quick fix I can perform so I don't have to take my car to the dealer?

Nopstnz8 03-24-2008 09:54 PM

Yes check the DIY Threads.

Tires

hey guys, i just bought a set of rear tires for my car, they are 255/40 18, its on the stock rims. i went to vegas and i did the oil change right before, and on the way overthere i noticed the car goes slightly to the left when i step on it, and also it feels slugish. is it a big deal to have these tires?, are they adequate for this car?, the front tires are 225/40 18 so i dont know if i am actually hurting the performance of the car?

thanks
any help would be greatly appreciated,

Batman&TheBatmobile 03-26-2008 02:40 AM

Batman&TheBatmobile 03-26-2008 02:58 AM

cuz of offset or width? or both PARHAPS? im just tryin to find a wheel i like that fitsnbefore next winter so i can use the stockers for that. so i got time to learn about all this fun stuff.

NgoRX8 03-26-2008 03:09 AM

if you're looking for winter wheels, you probably want to go smaller than stock width.

the reason these don't fit is because of the +20 offset. that and a 9.5" wheel doesn't allow room for an offset lower than 45...

Batman&TheBatmobile 03-26-2008 03:14 AM

i see. thanks for your help. i'll be back. asking more stupidly noobish questions.

dannobre 03-26-2008 03:18 AM

I actually tried those on my car for shits and giggles...my son has them on his R32 GTR...they don't even come close to fitting

Batman&TheBatmobile 03-26-2008 09:55 AM

ha thats cool. they look badass. if i could get an offset that would fit that wide in that style i'd buy it in a minute. theyre black with a red lip.

kennychopra17 03-26-2008 12:39 PM

hey guys...just a quick question. Looking to install my SSR D5R's I was looking to seel earlier. I decided to keep and am going to order the tires today.

Here's what I have

SSR D5R wheels 19 x 9.5 +40 et all around.
My Car has stock suspension.

I can do either 245/35/19 all around. (getting a good deal on General exclaims UHP)

or

245/35/19 f and a 265/30/19 r.

The wheels are not staggered. But the tires can be. I rather not have any rubbing issues and I do not want to get an alignment right now, nor do I wanna rub....you guys have any experience with rubbing in the rear with a 265/30/19?

Thanks in advance
