ive got some 10 inch wide wheels with a 35 offset and im trying to decide what tire size to go for. im gonna be low. i ve been following input's progress with his 5zigens. im not gonna be quite as low as him so i was plannin on 255's or 265's im tryin to get the most rubber possible without it bein a pain in the *** for fender work. ive already rolled em and im expecting to do a slight pull. i just dont wanna start grinding **** down like input did.

what you guys think???

^search forum member named 'thejew' - he's running 18x10 +30 w/245's. He's running a skinny tire because they were brand new when he first got them but he says he could possibly run 265's - i'm thinking that with your setup you should be fine. Some camber work will probably be needed but nothing too extreme as far as fender work.

Will the following rub and require fender rolling?

18 x 9.5J +35 (FN01R-C) on 255/40/18
On all four corners, lowered with Tein S-Tech

17 x 10J +35 (FN01R-C) on 285/40/17
On all four corners, lowered with Tein S-Tech

Tires will be Falken RT-615

My guess is the 18" setup above will fit w/o fender mods, but the 17" won't.
Thanks.

^can't confirm the 17's but the 18's will work w/a roll or shave.

Thanks for the quick response, Atilla.
So I am guessing 18x9.5J +45 on 255/40/18 would definitely work without rolling, correct?

Do you think I can get away with 18x9.5J +37 on 255/40/18 without any rolling?

Atilla, I've found this thread where someone uses the same rims/tires/drop I am looking at with 18x9.5J +35 on 275/35/18. He is only experiencing rubbing at the rear, is this due to the thinner profile?

The thread I am referring to is the following:

Thanks again.

9.5+45 and +37 with 255/40/18 shouldn't need a roll.

I'm thinking of:

Front: 8 1/2" x 19" ET43mm, tire 225/40-19
Back: 9 1/2" x 19" ET43mm, tire 245/40-19

Will it fit for sure?

And can I go down to 22mm ET on the rear rims?

That will fit easy w/o a roll but I would recommend going wider like 255/35 or 265/30 in the rear (or 245/35 if you want 245s). The +22 in the rear will definitely not work unless you want to pull fenders and all that good stuff.

I may have found a good deal on some Enkie RS6's...

However, the offsets are low... I know they'll need some work to be my daily driver wheels, but I need to know how much...

Could I get away with just a fender roll? Or do I need spacers?

Fender roll and a pull and lots of work. Spacers only fix a problem from the offset being too HIGH aka they push the wheel even further out.

It's borderline on whether you would need a roll or not. It will definitely fit though. 245/40/18 would fit w/o a roll for sure.

Just to clarify a bit for some of you guys - if you do the slightest pull you'll need to do some shaving of plastic as well due to our rear bumper design - take a look for yourself and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Great thread.....
I have a question. I have 19' Axes Matrix wheels that weigh 26 lbs, I like 17' Enkie's RP-F1 that weigh 15.9 lbs. Thats 10 lbs per wheel. I have seen the charts about unsprung weight.. Please don't send me there. My question is ..Have you made a change like that ? Can you tell a seat of the pants difference ? Gas mileage ? Thanks David

I have 2 different wheel/tire combo's. One is 45.5lbs altogether and the other is 41.2. With only about a 4lb difference in each wheel I can definitally notice a difference in acceleration. Going from a 26lb wheel to a 15.9 will make your car feel much quicker.

As far as gas mileage...

You are also going from 19" tires to 17" tires. Pretty sure the tires will weigh more for the same diameter, so don't forget to factor that in.

You are forgetting something called offset that is pretty important. Just looking at the 19x11 with 295s is making me say that it probably won't work no matter the offset though. Feel free to try it and post pictures though.
