Will 18x9.5 +30 wheels on 265/35/18 tires fit without modifications?

Or 18x9 +30 on 265/35/18?

I am lowered on Tanabe GF210's.

Both will require a roll and the 18x9.5 +30 may require more depending on camber. Also will have to do some work on the plastic bumper mounting tabs

Look for the post in this thread where imput showed what he did to make his wheels fit. It involved griding down a couple tabs. That is what you would need to do.

just wondering...

why are so many people afraid of rolling their fenders?? I mean, a pull and maybe shaving i could understand but rolling?? i mean...come on...as long as the shop guys don't come out with bats ready to 'roll your fenders' i wouldn't even think twice about it...

I did an advanced search on the thread and didn't find it. Sounds like it's not worth it. Someone local was selling some springs and I have money so I figured I'd give it a try, but I don't feel like making it a major mod at this point in time... I'd rather plan ahead for something like that.

I can understand why. It's not really a huge deal, but it can cause paint issues and finding someone who will do it can be a pain. It took me a month or 2 to find someone with a good reputation to do it for me. The only place I found prior to that was a small performance shop that was so backed up I'd have to wait a couple months. So time and effort vs just getting a set up that requires no modification.

Literally four posts up was your answer. I can understand not wanting to search through pages and pages but guys, lets at least try to read a few posts up!

8Maniac - That sounds like hell. If you're mechanically inclined and have patience you can do a fine job without the paint cracking, it's really not difficult at all. You can rent them online for pretty cheap as well! Problems start when you don't use a heat gun properly, go to fast, or do not adjust your angle.

Its almost surreal hearing that type of talk, here in socal every legitimate wheel shop on every corner knows how to and will roll fenders!

I knew the idea and knew I could rent, but I was too paranoid. The guy I ended up going with did it for dirt cheap so it wasn't too bad. I tried finding a place in both houston and san antonio and didn't get a whole lot of responses and most places I checked wouldn't do it for reliability and such... was rather annoying. We get more slack on emissions than you guys do though lol. Grinding down is what I'd rather avoid.

How much of a drop can I pull off without needing to do more than trimming the plastic lining?

Hey guys, I will be buying a used set of Enkeis from a guy on an Evo Forum and his are 18x8.5 with a 35 offset. j8635621 helped me in telling me that I don't need to roll or pull anything to fit them in. My question, is how it will affect handling? I called up Good-Win Racing and I forgot who the gentleman was, but he said as long as the front and rear offsets are the same, I shouldn't have any issues. Since I'm somewhat new to the track racing scene, a point in the right direction would be great. You don't have to give me a direct answer, I do like to learn, but I am finding it hard to research on line since there arent many people I can talk to in the Winter. Idk if you need to know what I will be running, but I will have Stance GR+ coilovers, and i have Hotchkis Racing Sways on the car. Thanks guys.

You want the lowest wheel weight possible. More weight = worse stopping, acceleration, and turning. Lower offset basically makes your car have more roll to it in corners, but I doubt you will notice much difference with those rims. Biggest difference you will feel is the fact you can put more tire on the ground!

Wheel strength is important as well. You get a light weight wheel that flexes and your times will be slower than the heavier/stronger wheel. Heavier with in reason that is.

I currently have 19X10 with a Toyo T1R 275-35-19 and an offset of 43mm in the rear. This is flush with the rear of the car and they don't rub (I do have rolled fenders of course).

In going 20b I would like to get a 295-30-19 (toyo r888 for example) tire in there, I was having traction issues with the Renesis as it was in its last rendition so the 3 rotor will probably make it worse (a good thing ). I found these guys that would make me a 19x11 rim with a 55 offset which means it would sit exactly where the outside of the current rim sits but would add 1" towards the inside. From measuring a while back I am pretty sure I have that extra 1" towards the inside without hitting anything but its cold out and I don't want to go measure it now.

has anyone had experience with rims that wide in an RX-8?

I'll be getting RPF1s if that makes any difference as far as wheel strength goes.

What do you guys mean by more roll??? Do you mean left/right body roll?

Chris: Not sure anyone has run something that aggressive to the inside. Tiltmode was looking into that a while back and I think the farthest in he found was 10.5 +43 and you have 3/4" more than that. Maybe someone else knows something I don't though.

well my friend has some crazy deep dish rims i think they are 18x 11or 12 inches and i was thinkin how deep can a rim be to fit our cars without having to do much more than roll the fenders???

how so? Not to expensive and not to flashy. Not a big fan of chrome or 5 spoke designs. The black looks good against my red 8 and their Enkei wheels. Keep in mind I am a full time college kid on a 9 buck an hour salary lol. Plus I am happy with them and thats what matters.
