Ah, that makes much more sense.

Was your buddy's car a Z/G? The rear tires were most likely 275/40 if the fronts were 245/45 as well. Not really going to work, as I guess you gander. Sorry :(

It's your car and we can't make decisions for you. We can only tell you what will work and sometimes what will look "better." Give us some wheel specs and if you are willing to roll fenders or pull the fenders. Please be willing to roll the fenders since I want to see a properly set up rx8 with those rims.

19x8in tenzo dc5 wheels on 05 will they fit without modification?

J8635621 02-17-2010 03:11 PM

Try searching the thread after you find out the offset. You also need to know what size tire you want to run.

STL05 02-17-2010 03:36 PM

Correction 19.5 on the tenzos 5/114.3 offset 45
tires- yokahama S 245/30/19

J8635621 02-17-2010 04:09 PM

19.5? No matter what, that will fit. You have lower profile tires than you need, but they should work.

STL05 02-17-2010 04:32 PM

Cool thanks! What tires do you suggest?

J8635621 02-17-2010 06:32 PM

What did you mean by 19.5? For a 9.5 wide +45 wheel you can go all the way up to 275 without rubbing. You want 245/35, 255/35, 265/30, or 275/30. For an 8" width, 245/35 is best.

alz0rz 02-17-2010 06:34 PM

Rubbing bad on 18x9 +30 with 265/35/18 tires.
Will need rolling.
Just some knowledge for any future adventurers.

J8635621 02-17-2010 06:56 PM

That rubs with 255s as well w/o roll. 245s are ok though.

STL05 02-17-2010 07:06 PM

ment to say 19x5 ha. Thanks for the info man. you got a clean RX like the wheels.

J8635621 02-17-2010 07:15 PM

You did not mean to say 19x5.

STL05 02-17-2010 07:20 PM

gotcha

J8635621 02-17-2010 07:27 PM

What did you mean? lol The 19 means 19" diameter. The number after the x is how wide the rim is and that determines what size tire you should run.

STL05 02-17-2010 09:46 PM

yeah I understand bro. Just the wheel was listed at 19x8.5 it was a typo on my part. I was just makin sure they would fit

J8635621 02-17-2010 10:50 PM

Ok 19x8.5 was what I wanted to know. You are good to go.

STL05 02-17-2010 11:29 PM

Thanks for your help man. You do know what your talkin about. What do you know about finding a Mazdaspeed body kit?

sandman0527 02-18-2010 10:26 AM

Okay so I'm wondering if anyone can help me here, I'm thinking about getting a set of Axis Widetracks. They are 18x8 but they don't list the offset. Instead Axis states they are listed as being available with a 60mm or 90mm lip (I think they are designed to be staggered, although I would probably go with the same for all four, don't want to mess with my car's handling). Does anyone know what offset a 60mm or 90mm lip translates to and if either would fit without fender rolling? Also I should mention that I'm running on a stock suspension right now but will eventually be upgrading. I appreciate any help you guys could give me.

The Reverend 02-18-2010 10:34 AM

I believe the 90mm lip is a +20 offset. The 60mm lip is a +40.

J03K1LLARX8 02-18-2010 10:38 AM

Matt, I want a 8" lip. what offset would that be?

tiltmode43 02-18-2010 10:48 AM

On an 18x10" wheel that would be -75mm offset for an 8" lip. You might need to roll your fenders, maybe.

I know you were asking sophisticated Matt but fuck it, I'm Matt too ;)

The Reverend 02-18-2010 10:52 AM

Yeah I'm going to have to defer to Tilt on that one

you getting your CR Kai's with the 8" lip Joey?
